Intersting, every MVP candidate is where you expect them, except Embiid, I exepeted him to have better results.

Embiid has played fewer minutes... TPA is a cumulate stats

You have to see the line connecting the origin of the axes with Jokic... if a player is there it means that per minute that player behaved like Jokic

Based on graph:

jokic
embiid, giannis, luka, curry

Thanks, I thought this was adjusted, makes more sense now

Just some context for those saying Embiid has it locked it up and those shouting "number one seed in his conference!"

I actually didn't realize this. I'm going to readjust my view.

As of now there is no clear front runner. I have Joel 1st but he hasn't separated himself from the pack. In fact, if the nuggets can climb a little higher I would say jokic would be the clear #1.

Behind them is harden, curry, lillard, james in some order.

I think the media is going to keep LeBron as a top 2 candidate pretty much unless the lakers nosedive in these weeks without AD...which could totally happen since they've had an easy schedule so far. He really does not deserve a top 2 consideration, but we still live in the LeBron media era where he has to be talked about x number of times a day, along with Tom brady, michael jordan, serena williams. It is what it is.

Big day for the MVP race. Lebron is still ahead in my book, if not neck and neck with Embid. Watched some ESPN shows this morning and a few voters still have Lebron number one. Today is a big day. LEGO!

LeBron is basically freerolling tonight for a chance to boost his MVP contender status. National TV game against the best team in the NBA, shorthanded. A win would be big, but a loss isn't going to hurt.

Toronto basically provided the blue print how to stop Embiid. Double team him anywhere and anytime he gets the ball. It worked for one game. Second game didn’t work very well cause sixers hit their 3 point shots last night.

So not sure what to make of that strategy. Especially since sixers are night and day at home and on the road.

So Embiid can be neutralized with a dedicated effort like Giannis can be neutralized.

I mean you can stop any one player like that.

Of course it is going to hurt. 4 game losing streak without AD is huge.

Nick Pinocchio Wright will do his best to spin this mess to help Lebron . Right now

Embiid
Harden
Jokic
Kawhi

All should be ahead of Lebron in the MVP race but I fear they will just give it to him as a legacy award

Harden can't be MVP. This 7 game winning streak without KD is super impressive but being on a superteam of that magnitude has to disqualify him no matter how good his play. It's just the precedent that's been set. Superteam = no MVP.

I also think it's a joke LeBron has been a frontrunner for MVP playing alongside Davis. But we all know there is another set of rules for LeBron and there's nothing you can do about it.

Nope if he keeps this up for the rest of the season he certainly has a shot.

I'm pretty sure James won't be in my top five anymore when I do my next rankings on Monday or Tuesday. We'll see. He might even fall as low as seventh, depending on how things shake out with Lillard, Antetokounmpo, and Gobert. Harden is starting to lurk, too, which could drop James to eigth. We'll see, I guess.

Stats wise its first Jokic and second Giannis, especially Giannis have been picking it up lately and if he continues like this and a better record for the bucks nothibg stopibg him from a 3rd MVP

PS

I tried to explain before the season:

Guys don't go from ages 29-35 without once being the best regular season player, and then suddenly become the best at 36. LeBron winning was always going to take a borderline miracle - or a rig job.

LeBron was only in the conversation because the media wants to give him a final MVP as a lifetime achievement award. It's like when people were arguing for Drew Brees as NFL MVP in 2018 over Mahomes.

The MVP isn't best regular season player.
