we were lucky to have an owner who loved the team and wanted them to succeed and at one point, he paid the largest luxury tax in the nba history... now his sister owns the blazers, but who knows what the future holds, so if she sells the team, hopefully we get another great owner, i wouldnt love to experiece what knicks fans have been experiencing for decades

The absolute worst are fans of single players and not teams.

They'll argue with you until they're red in the face about how great their "team" is but the moment their favorite player leaves, they go to shilling their new "team".

Lakers fans have been insufferable lately, Raptors fans act like babies but they're alright and I don't notice Celtics fans much unless someone makes a "why Tatum suck" thread and they show up to call OP stupid

In my experience there are lots of insufferable Lakers fans. Growing up in the Bay Area, there were always a fair amount of Lakers fans who liked to dump on Warriors fans when the team was bad. Of course, the moment the Lakers became lottery feeders, most of them lost interest in the Lakers and started watching lots of Warriors games.

I'm actually more sympathetic to that than I used to be -- now that the Warriors are good, I realize that the main reason this team is good is Curry/Green and the core and when they leave I might still be invested in some of the players that developed under that team. This is to say I don't feel an obligation to keep rooting for the name on the jersey or ownership when the joy I've gotten watching the team is mostly tied to the players, not the guys who pay the bills.

But the other thing that really makes Lakers fans insufferable, at least the causals, is the total ignorance of the game and the mechanics of the league. It seems Lakers fans are the fanbase with most delusional assumptions about the trade value of their players and seem to take it as a given that the Lakers will trade their role players and mediocre prospects for legitimate stars.

I try not to generalize a fan base, esp on here where it's considered against forum rules. But I will say that peak fanbase delusion/doucheyness that I've seen on this site was probably Bucks fans before the ECF two years ago.

Ya, 3 yrs ago I would've said Boston fans but after the whole "Tatum is only 19!" phase it's been aight. On this forum for me its def Bucks fans, followed by Mavs fans. Can take 0 criticism of their team. Warriors fans are pretty bad too on the forums.

In 'real life', if your fanbase is enthusiastic I think that's a good fanbase regardless of how obnoxious (i.e. Jazz, Knicks, Thunder). So for that I'd go with Heat fans. They've been given great teams but doesn't seem to be a lot of Heat love in Miami. Prob bc football/baseball is bigger there but its Heat fans and their lack of enthusiasm for this.
Thinking about it, Bucks fanbase doesn't seem to have a lot of enthuse either... but they got Packers and team just got good so I won't blame them too much.

Someone before me said it best, with the "player fans" are worse than the "team fans".
I'm a Mavs fan (going back to the early Dirk era) and i follow them here & on discord. Within the Mavs community, there's a sizeable minority, who are obnoxious in how they go to bat for Luka. No criticism of their fav player is allowed.
