Devin Booker - king of empty stats?

Post#1 » by Kings4win » Tue Mar 2, 2021 5:44 am

This guy has always produced numbers but has never led a team anywhere.

Low and behold Chris Paul turns up and he's one of the greatest floor raiser's in the modern game and they start winning.

They have other 2 way players like Ayton and Bridges and it has coincided with Phoenix finally starting to win.

Yet Booker gets an all star nod despite being the same empty stats player. He's a ball hog who doesn't play a lick of defense.

I think he is at best, the 4th best player on the Sun's.

LOL. Your credibility just got shot claiming Booker is at best, the 4th best player on the Suns

And even before the Suns drafted Ayton and Bridges, what exactly did you expect Booker to do with the major lack of good players around him with those teams? He isn't a Lebron James where he could turn a trash team into a contender overnight.

Of course, once the Suns accumulated talent with Chris Paul (a PG like him will almost always lead to instant success for almost any team) and the growth of Ayton and Bridges being 2nd/3rd-year players, they became a better team. Chris Paul even said he came to the Suns because of Booker.

Lebron said it best. Devin Booker really is the most disrespected player in the NBA.

BPM is -0.1 this year so definitely seems a little overrated. If he could get his 3 point percentage up, I'd consider him All star material. As it stands, there's other guys out there with more talent.

Seems like a bad year for scoring guards in general. Everyone was hyped about how well Booker, Murray and Mitchell played in the bubble but all 3 have been inconsistent messes that don't contribute much valuable when their shot isn't falling.

4th best player, who can score 30ppg, was named an All Star and won Player of the Week twice over last month. I'll take it. The Suns should be really really good.

The Suns’ turnaround started in the bubble last year, before CP3 joined the team. That kind of kills most of your argument.

Suns are +12 pts per 100 offensive possessions when Booker is on court vs. off. +13 last season. +7.6 the year before. Empty stats my ass.

He is a very skilled offensive player but his impact just isnt that high..look at someone like Luka his impact last year on the mavs and compare bookers impact on any of his seasons with the suns prior to Paul's arrival. Like booker Luka was putting up big numbers but it was contributing to winning bc of his ability to get his teammates involved not to mention his supporting cast is not exactly super talented either id argue the mavs have less overall talented players than the suns do and yet booker could never get them to the playoffs. Granted in bookers defense the suns were very young inexperienced team with a very dysfunctional management for most of bookers tenure. The fact still remains his heavy ball usage and high fga comes at a detriment to his own team if he reduced his fga by 3 or 4 shots per game and focused on getting his teammates more nvolved and playing some defense his impact for the suns would be higher.

Booker more efficient than Doncic but needs to take less shots. Amazing take.

Did you not keep up with the the bubble last year? The suns winning is not solely because CP3 arrived. He and booker are the two driving forces behind the team's success.

Good question man, I’d say LeBron easily has that title

Do we really still need to do this? It's no longer 2018 people, time to move on. Booker haters, you were wrong about him, it happens, don't beat yourself about it, nobody picks them 100%.

I get it, it's difficult to admit that you were wrong all these years but doubling down only makes it more embarrassing. You don't even have to admit how wrong your were, just go away quietly and you'll see that no one will even remember or care. Just cut your losses and move on to the next guy. The good thing about the NBA is that there's new players entering every season to hate on.

I don’t know but it looks like Chris Paul has taught him how to be a foul baiter and a dirty player.

This is how you know who hasn't watched the Suns since 2010.
