Sorely missing Garnett's turnaround mid-range jumper

Post moves for me. That can include a fadeaway jumper I guess.

Love the animations. All those moves are cool. It's hard to pick one.

the step back has the most "technique" because it is not as physical/physique/athletic dependent as the other moves.
it's built around the jab step which is as old as the hills so you can't get any more basic than that

These clips look amazing, could you do Gervin/Julius/Wilt finger roll and Kareem/Artis skyhook?

I'm always excited when I see someone making long finger roll in Julius Erving, Clyde Drexler and George Gervin style. It's really hard move and it looks amazing. I also like it from the post - Julius also used it quite often and of course Wilt is known for that.

Then of course skyhook should be mentioned - Kareem and Gilmore had the most beautiful ones in my opinion.

JoseRizal wrote:The Bank Shot by Tim Duncan. One of the most beautiful and effective, but least used shot in the NBA. The accuracy rate is much higher than any fancy shot and it's the most basic in terms of mechanics. It's still a mystery to me as to why players don't abuse this technique.

As a right hander, I can get get 10 out of 10 in the left elbow, by simply mastering this shot, and I am no professional.

Jordan's fadeaway is a masterpiece to watch, though the bank shot reminds me of a "magician" in the pool table.

I actually thought that despite common belief, the shot wasn’t that effective nor did Duncan shoot it thay frequently. At least this is what was claimed in Thinking Basketball’s breakdown of Duncan on Youtube.

For everyone’s knowledge: OP did not make those animations. They are part of a Kirk Goldsberry article on ESPN+. OP is not able to fulfill graphic animation requests unfortunately. Unless he’s super skilled and we all just don’t know it.

Definitely ISO or driving dunk.

It's the only one of the list that brings the house down in arena's. Jumpshot fadeways/three isn't it chief. Sorry.

I'm a sucker for passing. Kidd, Nash, Luka, Joker, Sabonis, Pistol Pete, White Chocolate, Larry Legend, Magic, Bron. Those are the players that made me fall in love with the game.

Also anything Kyrie does. His balance and ability to pull up anywhere, anytime, any foot. I've been spoiled watching him this season.

The greatest ability isn't a move but a mode activated only by the greatest of scorers. The ability go God-mode in a quarter/game. Not once, but multiple times within a month or season. Capable of happening at any point, which scared defenses to death.

Jordan
Curry
Kobe
Iverson
Arenas

To name a few. Simply unstoppable and devastating once any of these guys got hot.

That move off a triple threat. A single explosive dribble towards the dominant side, pulled back under the leg from the same side. Gather the feet and pull up for a jumper. Not sure what you call this but every elite wing scorer does it.

T-Mac and Kobe would do a pivot spin backwards version after the dribble too.

All the names above were absolute killers on court.

As I went through each one of those animations, my opinion kept changing.

Great OP.
