Ha. I see Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain mentioned right away...
Funny enough in his autobiography... Wilt claims he beat Jerry West in long-distance shooting contests EVERY day at practice.
Now granted, Wilt wasn't even making 50% of his free throws at this point of his career, while West was a 82%+ foul shooter... but would anybody assume Wilt would be lying. If he was lying about that was he also lying about dunking from the top of the key in game at Kansas... a reverse dunk?
[Note: I know that parameters are set at 1980... but I think there were some great shooters in the 1980s who could have put up some ridiculous numbers in today's game where the shot is a weapon. Larry Bird is at the top of the list.]
Wilt is a well known BSer, lol
Of course. In the same book...
- Claimed he beat legendary RB, Jim Brown, in a foot race. But that's not all...
- Jim Brown was in shorts. And tennis shoes. Wilt was in a suit. But that's not all...
- Wilt was barefoot. But that's not all...
- Wilt cut his foot something awful and was bleeding all over the place.
But the 7'2" guy in a suit with bleeding bare feet still beat Jim Brown who was wearing track gear at the same party for some reason...
Lol that's hysterical and I hadn't heard that one
