Harden

CP3 and Curry are made out of glass and by proxy can lead you to a horrible season. Luka is too young for this thread.

Taking prime CP3 over any of these guys

We have the sample. The Houston Rockets were a contender with CP3, they were not a contender with Harden and not CP3
.
Also, you know, the top 2 seeded Suns that weren't even in the Playoffs last year.

Harden had already been to 3 WCF, including carrying Houston to one in 2015 before CP3 joined him in Houston.
Chris Paul had never been out of the 2nd round before joining Harden.

The Houston Rockets never missed the playoffs during Harden's 8 year tenure and only twice were they out of the Top 4 in the West.
The Houston Rockets, in their first year without Harden, currently have the worst record in the NBA.

Then there's the issue of durability which sadly has been the story of Chris Paul's career.

This has to be Harden.

What is steph doing right now, he is doing it when he was in Hou except he does that the whole year.

1. Harden
2a. Curry
2b. Paul
(Both good at carrying a team but ill give a very slight edge to Curry. Carrying a team is more of carrying the offensive load)
3. Doncic

Also, its unfair to luka. Hes too young to be in this conversation

Harden then Curry. No one else is above these 2 except Lebron.

That would be the worst team in the league without him, but he has single handedly put them in prime position to get out of the play in tournament. Everyone should be watching what he’s doing, it’s other worldly

It's so weird. Kobe had a worst team and took them to game seven against the Suns in 2005-2006. Getting the 7th seed wasn't talked about like some huge deal.

If Kobe/Lebron had this same roster, he'd be expected to make the playoffs..it's crazy how expectations shift so wildly for Steph.

Dallas came back after a dreadful covid affected start to the season and had a run of something like 20-10 until this recent slump. Only reason why Dallas still is 7th is Luka, let's not get carried aways shall we.

Exactly. I do remember Harden getting some similar treatment a few years ago when he got that awful 2015 team to the WCF as well as in stretches of 2016, 2017 seasons when he went on a tear to carry the Rockets and even those claims about how he compared to all time greats were absurd. People latch on to doing so very easily through runs like these like Curry is having.

As long as it’s not the playoffs, Harden.
