I've been watching tmac since he played for the Raptors. His post/inside game wasn't like melos.

Melo is a top-10 NBA scorer of all time, well clear of TMac. It's a good premise tho tbf. Full season (or game), give me Melo. A wild bucket out of nothing, maybe the slight edge to TMac.

I hope you dont think that top ten totaled scoring means top ten scorer. Carmelo isn't anywhere close to being a top ten scorer of all time.

But Peak Tmac as a scorer was probably better. But melo was more consistent with his throughout his career even before Tmac got hit with the injuries

Guess we’re completely ignoring eras then. If so then half the league is as good or better shooters then Reggie Miller & Ray Allen ever was. If you actually watched Tmac rather then comparing stats across different eras then it’s obvious he is a much better 3 point shooter then Melo ever was. He was bombing deep 3s before Curry and Lillard made it en vogue. Efficiency was not as prioritized then as it has been now, but I thought that was understood without explanation on RealGM.

Melo from time to time looks like he is forcing it. Tmac on the other hand does everything so effortlessly.

Melo on the court only has one job that is to score. Tmac often has to do everything on the offense. Can you imagine him play like Melo?

Tmac is the more skilled one, and I don't think it's that close.

I think they were in the same universe at their respective peaks. TMac was a better athlete and looked effortless at times but was never overly efficient. I’d give TMac the edge but I’m not convinced the gap is as large as many are making it out to be.

For one season, peak T-Mac was the best offensive player in a league with prime Kobe. That's saying a lot.

I went with Melo. His post game and more consistent 3 ball is what does it for me. Both guys were prolific scorers getting to the rim and utilizing their mid-range jumper but the topic is who is more skilled and Melo had more in his repertoire. I mean take a look at their prime year scoring production:

McGrady 7 year prime 01-08: 26.3pts on 44/34/75 or 52.4%TS with 21.8FGA

Melo 11 year prime 06-17: 25.5pts on 46/35/82 or 54.9%TS with 20FGA

You can say different eras etc etc. but even in those 3 years that overlapped their primes Melo put up: 26.9pts on 48/29/80 or 56%TS with 20.3FGA

TMac was a wonderful wing play maker and underrated in his day, but the poll is asking about scoring skill. It’s pretty obvious who didn’t play ball itt. Melo might not have been a lot of things, but in terms of scoring skill he’s one of the ATGs. This is easily Melo.

I loved T-Mac. He peaked way higher, and was a better overall and offensive player than Melo. However, Melo was the more skilled scorer. He lacked the tools T-Mac did and made up for it with a more diverse scoring arsenal.

I mean...i know T-Mac challenged to the limit my favorite player ever (Kobe) but i really love T-Mac, you have to appreciate him and enjoy his game... i would love to saw these 2 playing together (no all-star games)...for real, that would be a a **** show
