People choose who they want to win against teams that they don't like. There's more Sixers bashing than Hawks praising after the Sixers loss. I wouldn't call that rooting for an underdog
I haven't read posts after the game, but that shows that a team is an underdog. I assume people talked trash because Sixers definitely should have won and didn't. That makes the Hawks the underdog.
But if it's all about rooting for the underdog, shouldn't it be more about praising their win? Some teams don't get destroyed on these boards the same when they lose a game that they're supposed to win. And that brings us back to the point, there are a lot of Sixers haters that just like to see them lose. Sixers can go against the Nets next round and people will still root for them to lose. It's just how it is around here
