I didn't realize how good Mitchell was until he went playoff mode 2 years in a row. Him and Trae both took it to another level in the playoffs.

Also don't forget about Jamal Murray. He's not top 5 but he easily could be replaced with Tatum or Zion.

Mitchell should get credit for his playoff performances but Tatum just had a series where he dropped 50, 40 and 32. And he's much better in the regular season.

Crazy how posters find a way to underrate Tatum even in a 5 person list

If you like Booker better than JT why did you rank him below JT?

For what it's worth I'd have the same list.

I have concerns Zion will encounter the same issues on offense that Giannis does where if he gets in the second round or better against a good defensive team suddenly barreling to the bucket won't work. That and well unlike Giannis he's not some great defender or playmaker. His one trick pony might work in the playoffs unlike Giannis's though.

But it is a concern. He's also only 20 so he could easily had a better shot to his game to change this equation or get that FT% up to 80+%.

Zion, SGA, Ingram would be the ones I'd have on the shortlist. The others I think aren't going to max out to these levels. Bam, Jaylen Brown they're going to be what they are not franchise level player potential imo.

Mortant and Fox could also but it's hard because PGs there's like 1,000 all-star level PGs in the league so it's harder to reach that competitive advantage level in today's league at that spot and I think the SGA difference is his height and switchability in pick and roll defense is a difference maker for playoff teams where you can't pick on him which all offenses due in the playoffs. Almost all of them are pick, switch the PG on me as a star SF and then goto work. That will be less effective on SGA and could really be a big difference maker for teams looking to win a ring.

Lmao if Zion was in the east he would have been a 4 seed with Boston's roster.

Replace Trae with Mitchell and that's my Top 5. Ben Simmons #6 for me.

Tatum is also a very good defensive player. I think he's pretty clearly the second best under 25 year old in the league, although Zion is like a talented ticking time bomb who could break out at any moment.

Good list, hard to argue, I’d probably put Book ahead of Zion but otherwise solid list.

Switch Mitchel with Booker, Zion looks more dominant than Tatum, but Tatum is proven, so I won't argue
Luka
Tatum
Zion
Mitchell
Trae

This list could have Mitchell and Murray on it replacing ANYONE on the list...

The list is fine- they will prove it on the court with wins....so I Don’t care about the list as much as it proves the NBA is in better shape (when we eventually are) post Lebron than the league was post Jordan.

I actually appreciate that a guy that can’t shoot but Ds you up, just like Ben, didn’t over state their value. His top five full of defense liabilities lol

If Mitchell made the list instead of Zion, it would have been perfect.
