Embiid has been too dominant to let the Sixers lose this series. He's as engaged on both ends as I've ever seen him.

The Hawks are a fun team and its nice to have a willing villain in the league, but i dont like young teams taking huge leaps. making it to the second round is where their run should end, its the sixers time right now, they paid their dues.

If Sixers can’t slow down Trae, nobody can.

Sixers defense is built exactly to slowdown scoring guards. Sixers got two DPOY candidate guards on their squad. Its just a matter of implementing the right defensive scheme.

Impressed with how the Sixers adjusted on PnR defense,
Sixers never looked back since.

Did the 2011 Bulls pay their dues being lead by a 22 year old and suddenly being a Conference Finalist.

Simmons is destroying the impact of Trae

Will be interesting to hear media takes if it continuesas prior to the game, ESPN went all in with Trae

That was a much better and deeper team. It had another (borderline) all-star in Luol Deng. It had a very versatile front court in Boozer and Noah. There was Taj Gibson, Korver, ... .

Rose and Noah already had play-off experience that season.

This Atlanta Hawks team is severly overrated, let's be honest. And they won against another overrated team in the first round.
There's Trae Young and mostly very young, promising indeed, players. But they are not on the level of Deng, Noah or Boozer during that period. Bogdanovic is nice, but far from an All-star.

Capela is mostly a + but not against Embiid. Sixers also have a much better and experienced bench. Korkmaz can heat up (like in game 3), Milton can (like in game 2), Maxey can. Hill and Howard are very solid and stable players to put in the game, ...

Atlanta is far from that level. No matter how high the hype gets. This is a learning curve, the Sixers are already in year 4 of that, Atlanta is just at the beginning.

But they need much more than only Trae Young to keep that curve going up.

Ben’s Defense on Trae is the difference since game 1. He’s really doing a great job making Trae’s job harder.

Joel is the best player in the league, that much is evident. Mr Playoff Points per Minute.

I called it though. As long as Ben and Joel stay outta foul trouble the sixers should coast to easy wins vs this inexperienced hawks team.

Thank you, I’m on my phone and didn’t want to type all that out.

I like John Collins game. He’s solid 6/8 or 6/9 guy. Classic stretch 4 in today’s modern nba.

Seems to play within the game and no force things. He should be Atlanta second option. But I don’t know why he’s not scoring on his own iso type of play. Most of his points are from wide open jumpers or off passes.

Is he worth 4 years/120million like Jaylen brown Extension I know he wants the max 5 year rookie extension. Can he get a 4/120 with PLAYER OPTION for the 4th year and bet on himself. Jaylen brown is no player or team option. Straight 4 years.

I’ve never seen Embiid handle a double team this well before. I’m just amazed how he’s playing. 8 assists. He’s also learn to split the double team or else he’s gonna to get the foul calls.

Atlanta just doesn’t have enough length on the double team to bother Embiid.

Hawks May need to go to plan c. Just let Embiid score 40/50 and count on him being tired. But the loss of hunter really hurts. He can slow down Harris. And Harris is killing them off the dribble.

Losing young forward De'Andre Hunter really hurt the Hawks chances. The Hawks just don't have another defender like him. The Hawks are fun team to watch but the Sixers are just to much for them.

Yeah, they really could have used Hunter to check Tobias Harris. He’s just quietly dropping 20 on whomever the Hawks guard him with.

They need a better coach to move forward. Nate McMillan is pretty mediocre at winning in the playoffs.. I'm not going to say he may not serve a purpose as a 'developmental' type, but to get the next step the Hawks will have to upgrade.

He has no ball handling ability or reliable moves. He's basically Antonio McDyess, with his preinjury hops and post injury shooting.

Maxing guys like Collins is how you stay in perpetual playoff purgatory. Pay for real stars or value role players if you want to win. Of course, a lot of teams don't really want to win, just make money.

How much will he get.

Jarrett Allen is likely getting 4/100 himself.

Teams will over pay. Just how much Collins and his team will want. He just can’t be greedy like nerlens Noel turning down 4/60 million a few years ago. Now Collins is better than Noel. But if he turned down 90 million guaranteed. It’s a dangerous game to play turning down that type of money.
