I believe that Jeremy Lin would not count as a foreign player, since he has Taiwanese nationality.

Not as far as I know, although I'm not totally sure on that. Lin has Taiwanese nationality, and I believe that anyone with Taiwanese nationality isn't considered a foreign player in the CBA. But like I said, I'm not sure about that rule.

talent between foreign and domestic talent there is huge, but no matter what they do they can't develop their own talent.

NBA would get rightfully shredded if they even considered this. However, nobody in the NBA will say a word since they all bend at China's will.

According to this, Lin does count as a domestic player in the CBA. So he shouldn't be affected by this.

Lin’s Taiwan passport to make him ‘domestic’ athlete in China

Unless he says he’s Taiwanese then he might have trouble.

If he says he’s Chinese he will be suitably rewarded

CBA was just a place for washed NBA players to go to make a last paycheck. Nobody cares about their league.

CCP be like if Chinese players can't play in the NBA then American players can't play in CBA. They made same mistake when they banned foreign consoles and had that ban until 2014 because they thought if they do that then their clone consoles that copied Sega, Playstation and Nintendo are going to takeover foreign markets like their other products did after they banned those products and stole intelectual property of companies that produced those products. That tactic doesn't work in sports either so they are going to make their league irrelevant.

Didn't they already have a limit of one or two foreign players per team anyway?

Uh I think dozens of foreign born players pretty much care they will lose their source of (good) income. I find this actually significant, CBA has found its place in the basketball word and this is really a radical move.

Probably, most domestic leagues have some kind of rules like that, but this is something completely new and outrageous.

there arent any chinese players in the nba. they do make great money there. The way they take advantage of the greediness of the west is actually fun to watch. China is undoubtedly going to lose money do to this, but their goals are more important. Imagine if the nba manufactured all the apparel domestically how much the prices would rise because the nba has to grow financially.

if everyone stopped relying on china this garbage would be over in less than 5 years.

Yes if you compare them to the NBA , top European national leagues and Euroleague but those players raised quality of the league and put them above a lot of foreign leagues that are going to be better than CBA after this move.
