Nobody cares. In the playoffs, Middleton is averaging 23-8-5 on 54.4 TS%. So, if he's this good in do-or-die games just imagine what his stats look like in non-do-or-die games. Oh wait, I can calculate that. It came out to 19-7-5 on 48.2 TS%.

If Middleton didn't play like @ss in the other 12 games the Bucks wouldn't have been in those do-or-die situations.

Middleton is an awesome iso scorer. Shorter Durant, skinnier Joe Johnson. His off the dribble pull up in iso situations is as sweet as it gets. He's also a decent all-around guy that can help as a floor spacer, passer, and his handles make him able to work a 2 man game with Jrue or Giannis.

That being said, Middleton doesn't break defenses. You guard him one on one, and hope he doesn't catch fire hitting pull-ups in your face. Middleton doesn't make the defense move (put them in rotation), he doesn't draw that much help and then punish a vulnearble defense with a pass that much. He's more of a bail-out man than an offensive hub. If you rely too much on Middleton's creation, your offense isn't going to be super consistent (as we've seen). However, because the Bucks dont have amazing offensive creators, they do seem to play best when Middleton is aggressive and being given a lot of space to do his thing. I think their best identity is being an impregnable defense and having Middleton cook. It's strange to me that Jrue and Khriddleton couldn't get going while Giannis was battering the Bucks to death, but in a quieter Giannis game Middleton does his best work attacking a set defense. Like is he just better as a tough bucket getter than he is attacking a compromised defense?
