2018 Rockets is one.

Lol, that's a good one. Giannis would average 50 vs that team.

Jrue would lock down either Harden (which might be unnecessary since Harden locks himself down in the playoffs) or Paul, until the inevitable Paul injury.

With the amount of contact allowed in Finals games (was super physical last night), Harden would spend all series flopping and complaining as Giannis runs down the court for easy transition dunks.

How much better are those Rockets than the current Suns? Get real..

I'd argue they're worse because Booker is a much more effective player than playoff Harden.

Those Rockets would have made it past the juggernaut Warriors if it wasn't for CP3 getting hurt. I think they can beat these Bucks.

People picking 2006 Heat??

Do you guys know where Giannis operates on the floor? Do you know that 2006 Heat had Shaq and Mourning down there? The Bucks won’t bully that team. The Heat also had Flash DWade. Not old man Wade.

I won’t argue that it is inconceivable. But the types of rules that are enforced will have a lot to do with the outcome.

Even in that time they were starting to give Shaq fouls that he wouldn’t get called for in his Laker days. So maybe more modern rules benefits the Bucks. But if it’s 2006 rules and before then it is the Heat.

That is the problem with these types of comparisons. They are different eras and things have changed quite a bit.

its like live action vs anime. both is enjoyed depending on the audience but one category feels like a real story vs the other thats more cartoonish

The best animes have been light years better than anything Hollywood has released lately.

Any of the '00 Spurs title teams are a bad match up because Duncan was in his prime and they had the personnel to form the wall much like the Raptors did in '19.

Do you remember how unimpressive that Heat team actually was?

In the NBA Finals, Shaq was outscored by Antoine Walker and neither of them were very effective. Shaq was basically a decoy so that Wade could weave his magic. That version of Shaq is doing little to limit Giannis offensively and certainly wouldn't be getting anyone in trouble defensively. He might not even be a viable player given his limited movement and free throw shooting by that point.

That Heat team are among the least impressive Champions this century.

I went to about 10 games that playoffs. I remember them well! It was not the Heat that choose to make Shaq a decoy. The Mavs went all out to stop Shaq from beating them and Wade took advantage. Bucks would be more than welcome to single cover Shaq…

The Bucks would destroy them in transition. Also, their team was designed to protect the rim. Zo, Shaq, and Haslem would be run and shot off the floor.

Jrue would be the perfect defender against Wade. MIL is also essentially league best defending the paint and not fouling. They would be a terrible matchup for that MIA team.

If we are playing by current rules, then the obvious answer is the Pistons. They wouldn't be able to play defense as physically as they did, and also defensive strategies in the early 2000s usually involved letting teams shoot as many 3s as they wanted. In fact that's usually when the Pistons lost back then--when teams got hot from 3. Bucks would just spam 3s with Lopez, Tucker, and Middleton all day.

You say James Harden like he's not an mvp. He's arguably better than KD, certainly mvp shares would say so

lol.

you realize the 2020 bucks and the 2021 bucks are two different teams right?

Yeah I have to agree they might have the best chances, and maybe 2003 Spurs.

They probably don’t beat any champion from the last 40 years.

Congratulations to the Bucks, they are the champions in the history books.

Every single one of them except the Raptors.

Are people here really thinking a team playing Ben Wallace are going to be good enough offensively against modern defensive schemes? Seriously?

I'd feel comfortable with them beating.

2020 Lakers
2019 Raptors (It was a close series and Giannis/Middleton are a lot better plus Jrue is infinitely better than Bledsoe)
2006 Heat

Everything else would be a toss up.

Even then, who knows and who really cares.

What if last season's Bucks were better than this season's Bucks? Their route to the Finals this year was hardly a tour de force.

If the Nets had enjoyed even a small amount of luck then the 2021 Bucks are eliminated in the second round. The same as last year.

Certainly, there is no argument that the 2021 Bucks were better during the regular season.

Anyway, the Lakers last year are probably as well equipped to handle Giannis as a team can be. Big bodies everywhere, extremely well drilled defensively, they would have been a heavy favourite against this year's Bucks.
