He was paid on potential, but he doesn’t get better. Worst contract in the league. Sixers better trade him before everyone else figures that out.

this is getting shameful. ben is a max player imo, and one semi-bad playoff series should not take away from that. all this overreaction is getting weird.

i think everyone else has figured it out.. that's why he hasnt been traded yet cause 76ers are asking for a king's ransom for him... probably a paul george to clippers deal.. multiple firsts and pick swaps and a starter level player with potential (similar to SGA projection).. which doesnt seem like a price anyone wants to pay..

almost every great player has had a bad series, this is no different. folks are making a mountain out of a molehill. simmons is NOT the reason they lost that series. there's enough blame to go around.

The Ben Simmons phenomenon is hilarious to watch. He's an amazing player, but fans have a hard time adjusting their lens.

You're acting like this was his first time disappointing in the playoffs. Most Sixers fans wanted to trade Simmons AND picks for Harden last off-season. Kind of weird to trade your young All-NBA DPOY-level guy for a guy 7 years older who doesn't even really want to join you, and give up picks to boot - unless you already know your young guy will never be a real star.

But when the trade didn't go through, people rallied round Simmons and were willing to give him another chance. Well, we saw how that went.

As for him not being the reason they lost that series - who else on the Sixers failed to do their job? As far as I can tell everyone else did what they're there to do (except maybe Doc himself); not perfectly, but they filled their role on the team. Except the PG who can't run an offence, pose a scoring threat in the 4th or even stay on the floor.

It's kind of disingenous when people point to the Center not being able to handle the ball, or the midget SG on the bargain contract not being able to defend, as problems equivalent to the Point Guard *not being able to play Point Guard*

Put it this way - he's worth a hell of a lot more than Embiid. Joel's only public criticism of Ben came after Ben usurped Joel in the DPOY column. Embiid is a sensitive diva. Sixers should move him and build around Simmons, the Iron Man.

Embiid is a far more unique player than a defender who can only score in the fast break or dunkers spot. He also puts in way more effort in offseasons, cares about winning, and has shown the ability to mature/take leadership upon himself (not always)

Only Simmons apologists genuinely believe that Simmons is more impactful on winning than Embiid

Embiid is very good at:
1. Achieving cool stats in first round sweeps
2. Blamimg teammates
3. WWF Gestures
4. Being injured

Probably wouldn't have signed that many years if he knew his team leader and coach would turn on him publicly a season later.
