Current NBA players who have broken backboards

Obviously the current NBA backboards are designed in a way to prevent breaking (closest actual NBA examples of current players is Dwight). But the current players have played on a variety of baskets pre-NBA, pickup games, charity events, etc. that are not NBA regulation. What’s videos are out there of current NBA players breaking backboards?

I’ll start things off with one I know of: Kevin Love in high school

I thought this thread was inspired by Walter Tavares who just broke the backboard in Afrobasket. By the way, I am very disappointed that no NBA superstar from Africa ever actually played for their national team, looking at you Embiid and Siakam while Cameroon is winless right now. They claim they are so patriotic towards their continent, but they rather play for different country instead (Hakeem, Deng). Sorry if I went abit off topic :D

No, I am not referring to Olympics, but in general. Guys had opportunities to suit up for a while, but I cant recall any African superstar ever do it. Many probably know that I am not a fan of Walter Tavares, but at this point he is much bigger than his Cape Verde team, and he still plays for them, he is probably the biggest name Afrobasket has had in years, which is sad. How else these guys think African basketball will grow in popularity, I bet 99% of you had no idea Afrobasket was going on right now, but imagine if Embiid was there right now, most people would at least be aware of its existence. Lots of African love talk from these guys, and very little walk.

It’s a lengthy commitment for players like Embiid/Siakim because Cameroon is still a second tier program.m, If you help them get there you need to stick to avoid watching them get crushed. If you don’t help them get there, then you can’t play anyway. That’s a lot to ask of injury prone players.

Teams with better coaching, structure, support, etc. do a solid job of drawing their NBA players. See Nigeria.

The relative dearth of players from Africa let alone individual countries makes it difficult. Hakeem led the way for Nigeria, Mbah a Moute is getting them there, it’s a process.

Sure, Embiid could use his cache to accelerate the process. And the criticism is fair, and he probably owes Moute for helping him get to Kansas, but still, it’s a lot to ask.
