dirk's playoff run to the chip goes down as one of the greatest post season runs of all time. giannis has the stats but didn't face the same type of teams.

I'm currently playing with Dirk on my NBA2k11 team, he's one of the most difficult players to stop ever.
C: Greg Oden
PF: Dirk
SF: Mike Miller
SG: Michael Jordan
PG: Jamal Crawford
But Charles Barkley is not in NBA2k11, and neither is Giannis.
I've played as Karl Malone in the past, but I'd have to play as him again to judge between him and Dirk.

Roy/Aldridge
Kobe/Gasol
Durant/WB/Harden
Heatles

Dirk destroyed them all. 3x All NBA 1st, 3x 2nd team, 1x 3rd team.

That's not fair. We haven't seen Giannis peak yet. So, the obvious answer at the moment is Dirk.

Barkley and Malone were relatively consistent throughout their primes but did not have outlier peaks. Dirk has either the 06 season if you prefer more complete campaigns or the 11 season for probably the most legendary post-season run ever. I think you can argue that Giannis already peaked higher than both of Barkley and Malone but I don't think he has a better season than Dirk at his best yet.

I think it is fair considering he's only 26 and already in the discussion with the top 5 PF peaks of all time or at least 5 of them.

He's already in very good company if you ask me...

Yeah he has, most players peak at 24-25, which is when he won his MVPs. He’s still got a long amazing prime ahead of him, but we’re in the post-peak Giannis era now.

Jordan arguably had better seasons at ages 27 & 32 than he did at 24-25.

Giannis regular seasons have slightly declined steadily since the first MVP, with other variables influencing the shift in numbers. This last season he just started the year looking unlike himself before getting into a groove.

Giannis had an ATG Finals performance through most of the games. He did that playing through injury & you think he already peaked? That was the best series he ever had, at age 26.

Giannis ain’t like most players he didn’t start playing till 12 his best years will be ahead I expect his best season coming next year at 27.

Did Dirk peaked in 2011?
He had a GOAT playoff run, but it wasn't his peak year imo.

I wanna say Dirk 2011. But Giannis this past yr was unbelievable. Toss up between the two for me.

And ppl saying 2011 wasn't peak Dirk? Maybe not in the RS, but that was one of the greatest individual playoff runs of all time. Just for that, that's his peak year for me.

Giannis, due to the HUGE defense difference related to the other 3 players.

Dirk's peak regular season was 2006-2007 when he won MVP. But he lost in the first round. Usually when discussing a superstar's peak the most important part of it is how they did in the playoffs.

Dirks shooting numbers were insane in 2011, midrange was all time in nba history. He also defeated some all time players and teams in the playoffs as the only allstar, taking the clutch shots.

Giannis while great, especially statistically (probably better looking numbers), is still a step behind dirks 2011 run. Two allstars, teams faced werent as great or healthy, and didnt always take the crunch time shots/got plays run through him
