How far would the best non-nba team in the world get in a nba season?

This is a slight response to the “world champion” thread… if the best team in the world that’s not in the nba could play 1 full nba season… how would they fair?

Set the record for fewest wins ever in a season.

There are a few national teams that would do well.

Now if they played with FIBA rules I'd think they would fare much better

2018 Real Madrid won the Euroleague with a starting line-up of
Luka Doncic (age 19)
Facundo Campazzo
Jeffery Taylor
Felipe Reyes
Gustavo Ayon
So Luka Doncic who is the best prospect in the last 5 years a role player and 3 guys no one knows exists outside of Europe
19 year old Luka Doncic played on Dallas with actual NBA players and was an awful team.
Nikola Mirotic was first team Euroleague in 2021. In the NBA Mirotic was an above average role player and barely a starter
Yeah probably 10 wins if they're lucky

I think a team that played really well together could have a decent record and get like a 7th/8th seed, but quick exit in the playoffs without a star to take over

Dead last in the standings.

So the Euroleague champs? They would be the worst team in the league. Just not enough talent to compete, their roster would be filled with guys who are decent bench players in the NBA at best.

The Washington Generals playing against the Globetrotters might be a fair equivalency. In other words, it would be a joke, pure and simple.
Or, to put it into terms that most Euros might understand, it would be worse than seeing the best MLS team trying to compete in the best Euro league.

Are Kyrie and Simmons on the non-NBA team? I heard they recently lost Wiggins.

I think the best world team is slightly better than the best NCAA team

they would fair better than a group of college all stars, who would lose all it's games against the worst bench in the nba

I think you can form a team that could have a better record than Houston, Detroit, Cleveland, Oklahoma etc. The problem is that it would have no future without the upside of a Cade, Green, Sexton, SGA etc.

You gotta be joking right? Even trash NBA teams that tank win 25 games... The best team would be at the bottom, but it would get some wins for sure. Could definitely compete vs the worst teams that are playing young guys, and would take a win here or there vs the better teams.
Keep in mind Euroleague teams are much more coached than NBA teams... There wouldn't be crazy chucking of threes, every time down a play is set, there's lots of ball movement etc... With the wider NBA court they would score a lot, there is no doubt in mind that they could avoid being last in the league.

Talent wins in this league at the end of the day. Fultz could literally go to Europe tomorrow and be the MVP over there.
It's like saying an MLS team could compete in Champions League or whatever...the talent gap is just too massive.
