CJ McCollum. Will he ever be an All-Star?

He is 30 years old now. Time is kind of running out. I believe he is the best active veteran without an All-Star appearance.

Will he ever be an All-Star?

2021-22 stats (after 9 games): 23.8 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 4.0 APG, 45 FG%, 44.2 3P%

Not in the west and unlikely in the East.

No. But he has had a better peak and career than some Eastern All Stars. Mike Conley syndrome, but maybe he will be on a top 4 team in the league one day so he can be justified as a second or third All Star from a contender.

With Curry/Luka and Morant's rise, he would have to surpass Lillard to do so (at the very least). So far so good, but good luck.

The East has lesser guards and we're looking at a young player like Lamelo as a possibility to take Irving's slot for the guard slot.

So no, likely not. A damn good offensive player though.

Always has a chance as an injury replacement. Lots of people have only gotten in as injury replacements and people eventually forget about that.

Yeah but it also looks like there's never been a single year where he would've made an AS game in either conference. Glancing at his splits, he's never averaged better than about 21/3/4 on meh efficiency before any AS break (aside from last year...but he only played 13 games pre-AS break). That plus not being his team's star and playing shaky defense would likely put him out of the running even in the weaker eastern years.

McCollum was on track to be an All-Star last season. Unfortunately he got injured pretty early. He would have been a much more worthy injury replacement than Mike Conley and Devin Booker.

Just an observation. Carry on :usa:

He's definitely an all-star in the Eastern Conference type of guy. He would give the 76ers a great chance at coming out of the East (with Kyrie sitting out).

I definitely would have thought CJ would be on another team by this point.

He's gotta be one of the best non All Stars ever if that remains to be the case. Use to be Conley before he finally got the bid. Jason Terry is another one who comes to mind

Wtf! I thought he was 27 or 28.

Edit:
It's too bad je got injured last season. He had a strong case until that injury.

Plus late 80s, early 90s Ron Harper. But CJ is definitely in that conversation.

Dame is 31. Westbrook and Harden are 32. Curry and KD are 33.

Time flies. We are getting old.

No he should cash in that MIP prize after losing Wes Matthews, Nicolas Batum, Robin Lopez, and LaMarcus Aldridge for all that its worth.
