Furkan Korkmaz has been playing great

He has been very solid for 76ers this year. Maybe absence of Simmons also allowed showing his play making ability as well. One of the best 3 point shooters in the league. He has to cut those travellongs though.

I loved this kid since junior competitions in FIBA. He just has smooth moves and a great looking shot.
Gives me hope for my countryman Arnoldas Kulboka who is a Hornet right now. Kulboka was a non impact player at all in Europe before joining NBA, so I have very minimal expectations, but then I think of Korkmaz, he was the same thing, he was loaned out, couldnt even make a team in Turkey, but in youth tournamens you saw potential in being a floor spreader, can stroke from deep, Kulboka can do the same, also inst a stiff, if Korkmaz made it, maybe my man Arnoldas will do to?
and I always against gambling on Euros who cant even compete with lesser Euro competition, but Korkmaz was somewhat an exception for me, I saw the potential, and to be fair he wasnt top 5 pick like some other guys who showed even less, mhm Bender...

He should have the ball in his hands at the end of games. It would solve the Sixers 4th quarter problems.

Would it really? Imagine the showdown in the playoffs where it's KD vs Korkmaz lol. He's a nice supporting piece but that's just it... supporting.

I find it interesting that he was drafted by the 6ers, his rookie options weren't picked up but he has spent his first 5 years with the team so far. I think it's a rare situation of not believing in the player and them surprising you.

Historically there were support pieces that came up big in big time moments. "Clutch Gene" if you will.
I generally think of someone like Robert Horry for that.

Ya thats because Horry fed off the all time greats he played with. He was never asked to make the play happen primarily. Korkmaz has a long ways to go before he even sniffs Horry category. This is just major overreaction to a good start from a role player so let's please chill lol.

He couldn’t miss a three against the Bulls. Big reason why the Sixers won Saturday night.

I think KD is better than a supporting piece but that's just me.
Furkan is very clutch and is one of the best value non-rookie contracts in the league. He isn't the answer at the end of games but is a high quality contributor and certainly isn't afraid to contribute in a huge way in the 4th.
He's real interesting in light of the whole Simmons thing. He requested a trade because he sucked and wasn't getting playing time. The Sixers did not trade him and didn't pick up his option. No one wanted this dude and the Sixers just kept him for depth. He took that **** personally and turned himself into a really good rotation piece over the course of the last handful of years. Love a Korklord.

The Sixers have the best offense in the league and Korkmaz is arguably their best half court ball handler. Korkmaz and Embiid PnR with Curry spotting up would be a money go-to play in the 4th.
This also shows you that the Sixers answers are already on the roster. They have so many good young guards who haven’t been able to handle the ball because Simmons wants to pound the rock while refusing to shoot.
If Simmons played point forward instead of PG and played off ball in the half court, and Tobias was moved to 6th man instead of a 2nd option, this Sixers squad would cruise to the title.

That's true, he was hot from deep and they weren't winning if not for he and Embiid in the 4th. The Sixers have been winning in part because at least 1 person's been hot from 3 each game; and this last game, this season's-best-shooter Seth Curry was broke from 3 that game, and Milton, Maxey, and Niang were combined 2/10 too.
That's been the recipe so far, and while the Sixers have very good shooting out there now, I think a big chunk of the early season success has been some good luck with a person or two flamethrowing from deep.

I'm not saying he is, I'm simply saying, you can be a role player and counted on, in the clutch.

Agreed that you could be counted on but that only works when you're not the first option in the clutch. That's all I was saying. A lot of stuff that works in the regular season doesn't work come playoff time when there are no secrets.

7-16 today for 19 points and 41% from 3 on volume.
His defense also has improved to a level he's not a total disaster out there

Yeah, the Turkish Delight no longer gets hunted, perhaps because Curry is seemingly easier prey? Furks has worked hard to improve, but still has a ways to go... his shot is nice, I will say that. He is prone to brain farts tho and sometimes pulls Joel-esque passes and moves that are not in his arsenal. His reverse jammy the other night was dope, too. But I wanna see him develop a little more vision and capacity to run the break if they're gonna think of asking him to do more. Otherwise, he might be better spotting up and making it it rain
