What he did in the finals against the warriors warrants that praise. That team was excellent defensively and irving just dismantaled them in a way I haent seen a guy that small do. The guy hits so many tough shots and contested finishes and is still extremely efficent. dre thinks he klay draymond and that team are some of the best defenders ever, and kyrie just straight up iso pullup on them repeatedly, broke them down and finished over them in ways that people dont even think to do.

Players will always overrate guys they played with or against.

Even if they don’t like them. Michael Jordan has referred to Isiah as the second best point guard of all time.

Gawd... so freaking overrated. The guy had good handles and was a creative scorer but couldn't even get a team to the playoffs by carrying the team as the #1 guy. The only success he ever had in the league was as a 2nd best player... that's not Top 4 PG All Time material my guy.

I mean the obvious connection here is Iggy's team beat Kyrie's team a bunch in the Finals. So if Lebron is GOAT and Kyrie is near-GOAT then it makes the Warriors look even more impressive and softens the stacked team argument.

Self-serving, nothing more to see here.

I don't think it's that crazy but it's borderline. I'd say something closer to top 7.

Five years ago everyone would've say Westbrook over Kyrie but today, most would take Kyrie (the basketball player not the person) in an instant, in spite of Westbrook's triple doubles.

It's Magic, CP3, Steph, Oscar (was he a point or shooting guard?), Stockton, Nash, Kidd, Isiah, and Russell in some order.

Kyrie is a better shooter than all but Steph and Nash. He has the best handle and can get to his spot the best of the entire group. He has a ring and hit the game winning shot to do it. He has 7 All Stars and 3 All NBA teams. That's honestly where he's lacking the most: the All NBA teams and All Stars, because he's been injured so much. Again, I don't see top 4, but it's closer than people want to acknowledge.

"Iverson wasn't really a pg". oh? must be kyrie's floor generalship that put him solidly in the PG category. maybe because iverson was so much taller than Kyrie.
