Are the Bucks fools gold?

Post#1 » by Optms » Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:53 am

Currently 6-8 and just lost to Trae Young and some other guys.

I've gotta say, the Bucks are the luckiest team of the last 20 years. Every legitimate contender sustained an injury to their core players last season during the playoffs and those injuries resulted in Milwaukee walking into a title. We are talking about a title so gifted that it legitimately adds credit to the Raptors 2019 title. Maybe even KD's rings (Eh, nevermind not really). At least the Raptors made it out of a tough East with an elite Sixers team taking them to the wire. Last years Finals was a once in a life time thing. Neither the Suns or the Bucks will make it back. I guarantee it.

2021 - .639 winning percentage, champs
2020 - .767 winning percentage
2019 - .732 winning percentage

Screw that small, three year sample size. A few bad weeks at the beginning of the season really shows us who they are.

No, and regarding the 2019 Sixers, I don’t think they would’ve beaten last years Nets team that Bucks beat.

Last year's Nets with no Kyrie and an injured Harden? That team? Hec, the Knicks would have beaten that team.

Undermining champions is a bad look. Staying healthy is the most important attribute a player, and by extension a team, can have.

Yes, the team with Kevin Durant. Absent writing him a sternly worded letter asking him to take it easy on them, how do you imagine that Sixers team would’ve slowed KD down? If you’ll recall, Kawhi lit that Sixers team up, and he’s not as good as KD.

They're really missing Middleton, they'll get him back Wednesday. They're also really missing Brook Lopez and his defense.

If Bucks' championship is considered lucky, so should the Lakers' 2020 championship.

I find it interesting how much Giannis needs his number 2 to win games, yet other superstars are missing their number 2 and can keep their team above .500

The defending champs?

No.

The 2020 Lakers didn't play a team missing their star to injury until maybe Bam for two games in the finals. How was it lucky? I don't consider the Bucks title lucky either. Now if the Suns won due to Giannis not playing, I'd 100% consider it lucky. That'd be an unprecedented run where all 4 teams would have a star missing.

Every championship is lucky.

Bucks missing Middleton and Lopez and DiVincenzo, let's revisit this thread in May.

Bucks have had atleast 2 starters (3 if you count DiVincenzo) missing for every game this season & multiple rotation guys out regularly.

It’s no surprise that they’re losing a ton of games.

Proceeds to talk about how the Bucks were fool's gold because other teams were injured as the Bucks core has been injured pretty much the entire start of the season.

lol stay mad.

Brook hasnt played a game. Middleton hasnt played more than 4 or 5. Jrue and Giannis both missed games. Donte still hasnt played. Dont kid yourself. Bucks are the real deal and the favorites to win East

Earlier in their careers Lopez and JRue had injury concerns which usually does not get better with age

Too early to tell. Remember, popular opinion is that chemistry is what separates them...

Ooh ooh I want to play this game where we ignore injuries and context and extrapolate things after 12 games in a season. Sounds like fun!

How many games should this roster win? I think they'll better once health permits. Definitely not a below .500 team.

I will say Bucks seem to have a very big problem on their front court depth. Even if/when Brook Lopez comes back. Feels like their short of a solid forward. That used to be PJ Tucker and they haven't replaced him with anyone worthwhile. Semi sucks.
