It's Official, Talen Horton-Tucker is Good

Post#1 » by Liam_Gallagher » Thu Nov 18, 2021 3:06 pm

In his first 3 games after returning from injury, he's shown no rust and averaging 23 PPG and 7 Rebs. Last night he was LAL's best player and even outplayed Anthony Day-to-Davis, who struggled.

If the Lakers didn't re-sign him and he was doing this with another team, this board would be throwing a fit like they did with Caruso.

He's the real deal and only 20 years old.

I thought you were trolling and this was meme like Jayson Tayson is only 19 but I checked his Wiki and you're right. HES ONLY 20, although to be fair he's turning 21 next but still. I heard about this guy for 3 years I assume this guy would be in his mid 20s by now lmao

But good for THT, he's developing into a real good player!

His scoring ability has been a pleasant surprise. He has a real ability to create his own shot off the dribble which I didn't necessarily see coming this early on.

He is shooting pretty well from outside in these first games. Let's see if it is sustaibable. I pictured him more like a slasher, which would be a poor fit with WB and LeBron.

I realize the Lakers could’ve had both Caruso & THT but Jeanie was too cheap and it was obviously a choice between either one. RealGM would’ve picked Caruso if you had done a poll during FA but of course most won’t admit it now. THT was the easy choice, younger, absolutely ELITE at getting to the basket at only 20 years old and great size plus loads of potential. Caruso is a plus defender and very limited offensively and pretty much what he is at this stage of his career. Don’t know why the decision was ever doubted. But yes THT is legit and the Lakers 3rd best player. Westbrook should become a 6th man if the Lakers want to win.

Man... I can't really argue with Westbrick coming off the bench.

Just not a playmaker. Needs to be a scorer.

He's very good, no doubt. But He's benefitting from a Lakers team in shambles right now. There are a lot of extra shots to take when LeBron is out.

Not sure I've ever seen Taylor play. No offense but the Lakers games are boring to me.

It’s that hairline that gives him his quick first step. Very aerodynamic.

He's shooting 40% from 3 through 3 games (obviously an ultra small sample size). Last year he was at 28%. He almost certainly won't stay at 40%, but 34% or 35% would be a huge improvement for him and would really help to open up his driving lanes. The shot looks more natural so far, so I'm semi-confident that there's been a real improvement.

I was hoping NYK would outbid on him. But we didn't.

THT can play the game and has a nice upside.

I still question choosing him over Caruso because of roster construction.
