That ppl think todays players are so much better than top NBA players of even the 80 and 90s. Forgetting the conditioning, weight training, supplements, advancements in muscle recovery, etc. If you took Bird, Magic, MJ, etc and gave them todays advancements they’d dominate the league today like they did back then.

The Celtics and Knicks are the only original NBA teams left in the NBA. There were 11 basketball clubs when the league first started but every other team has gone bankrupt except the Warriors (who moved). Here's what happened to the other 9 founding teams:

1. Chicago Stags -> lasted 4 years, had their name changed to the Chicago Bruins and travelled around as one of the teams that played against the Harlem Globetrotters before disbanding. The NBA expanded again in Chicago with the Zephyrs in 1961 and finally the Bulls were the permeant expansion team in 1966.
2. Cleveland Rebels -> only lasted one season before the team went bankrupt. The NBA re-emerged in Cleveland when the Cavaliers were one of 3 expansion teams in 1970.
3. Detroit Falcons -> also only lasted one season before going under. The Fort Wayne Pistons, who actually pre-dated in the NBA and were a part of another league, joined the NBA in 1949 and then moved to Detroit in 1957.
4. Philadelphia Warriors -> never went bankrupt, but they moved to the San Francisco area in 1962 and became the Golden State Warriors.
5. Pittsburgh Ironmen -> only lasted one season and were the worst team in the league. Pittsburgh has never had a NBA team since. They did have an ABA team from 1967-1972 but sadly it went under before the NBA-ABA merger.
6. Providence Steamrollers -> they lasted 3 seasons before throwing in the towel. And there has not been a professional sports club based in Rhode Island in the 60+ years since.
7. St. Louis Bombers -> were one of the more successful early NBA franchises since they lasted a whole 4 seasons. St. Louis got another NBA team soon after that when the Milwaukee Hawks moved there in 1955. This team would go on to become the Atlanta Hawks in 1968.
8. Toronto Huskies -> a sad story as they weren't good and lasted only one year. Toronto had to wait 48 years to have another chance at a professional basketball team when the Toronto Raptors became a NBA expansion in 1995.
9. Washington Capitols -> yes the same name as the hockey team in DC. They lasted 5 years before moving to another basketball league and then going bankrupt after one more season. DC got another team in 1973 when the Baltimore Bullets moved across the river to DC, and then rebranded as the Wizards in 1997.

I didn't know that Jerami Grant was Horace Grant's nephew until a few months ago.

That the Kings are the oldest franchise in the NBA. They have been around since 1923, in some shape or form. Almost 100 years!

Antawn Jamison is higher than Steph Curry on the total points scored list. This one legit shocked me.

I went to this thread to post about the Ironmen.

Warriors are celebrating their 75th anniversary as one of the league's original franchises and a few weeks ago I saw their first game was against the Pittsburgh Ironmen who I never heard of before lol.

Also, Warriors are still considered one of the original franchises--their blue, red and yellow jerseys this season are an homage to the jerseys the Philadelphia Warriors wore. So cool to see Otto Porter Jr. wear a similar jersey that his grandpa wore.

I learn that Scottie Pippen is delusional.

Against the Lakers, no less, who they defeated 16 years later to win their third title.

Yesterday I was re-watching Game 1 of the 1992 Finals, and they said Jordan set a new record for 3-point-attempts in an NBA Finals game. Nobody had attempted TEN 3-pointers before.

Yeah Steph is pretty low on the list for how prolific of a scorer he is. But he played 3 years in college and has missed a lot of games to injury. He'll probably pass Antawn next year as long as he can stay healthy
