Are the Timberwolves a playoff team?

Post#1 » by Vampirate » Thu Nov 25, 2021 3:45 am

They've had a big skid but it seems that they are righting the ship a bit.

They've had a brutal schedule in that 6 game losing streak but seem to be taking full advantage of a weaker one.

We're about 20 games in the season, what do you think of them?

As a Wolves fan, I have learnt not to overreact over a small sample size...let's wait atleast until we are 30 games into the season..their upcoming schedule is also relatively tougher, will be a good test. They do have the talent imo...they have improved a lot on defensive end this season and currently have 4th best Defensive rating in NBA..it's the offense which has been inconsistent and needs to improve, especially DLo & Beasley have been shooting poorly so far this season

wolves are very simply they need jimmy butler type to make it. this yr its the young prince.
this team make me think they dont want to make playoffs as evidenced by jimmy trade they prefer young potential.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

**** yeah they are.

The answer is yes they are.

They have more talent than Memphis.

They have more talent than injured Nuggets.

Then the 2 LA teams have all kinds of issues.

They have borderline enough talent to catch Mavs and Blazers.

Questions is, can Wolves not be the Wolves and finally claim what is theirs? A 5-8 seed in the West (with 8 being ā€œdisappointingā€ and 5 being they finally stepped up).

I think they are a play-in team. Houston, Pelicans, Kings, OKC and Spurs are tanking teams.

They can hit the playoffs beating Memphis. Lakers and Denvers are pretty beatable too if they keep having injuries...

Anthony Edwards is about to be a superstar so yeah.
Wolves late game offense is still a disaster but it's coming together.

The breakout of Vanderbilt is a key factor here. He has been awesome. Hope he keeps it up.

Yeah probably. Theyā€™ll likely be one of the last two play in teams.

With how badly Denver has been **** by injuries Mpj out, Dozier Acl and Murray not coming back anytime soon and now Jokic hurt they might even get 6 seed.

Warriors, Suns, Jazz, Mavs and Clips will finish higher. But that 6th is for the taking w/ them, Lakers, Grizz, Blazers. Its gonna be a bloodbath

With the inevitable stardom of Ant + Towns + D'lo + Beasley + Vanderbilt, the future is quite bright and they should elevate to a consistent playoff team. Right now, they still have the talent to make the playoffs and I hope they do.

They just got to keep adding veterans like Patrick Beverly who not only help stabilize and bring edge on the court, but help shape the culture of the franchise.

I'm gonna say no.

Probably not. They're way better than I anticipated though.

I worry about them in a playin game due to the lack of experience in those kinds of games. They are definitely a top10 west team but I think they need to be top 6 to have an actual series. Regardless of how it turns out this will be a great growth season for the young players.

Vanderbilt was the missing piece as a starter. He was amazing with KAT last season. More surprised it took them this long to work out.

They should be at least in the play-ins, despite all of their shortcomings they have too much top talent not to (d-lo, Ant an KAT). But I donĀ“t really like the rest of the roster. I think they need some solid veterans who know how to get the job done to really be a stable playoff team.
