First off this is from Stephen A Smith, who's a Knicks fan. So take it with a grain of salt.

And obviously if the Knicks acquired Dame they would give him the keys and move some of the other PGs.

And the Knicks are not a treadmill team. They were awful for a while, now they're good and competitive. So they're a team that's trending in the right direction, not stuck in one place.

I said theyre asspiring to be a treadmill team.

Right now theyre underachievers and a toss up for the play-in tournament. Ive heard all this warm fuzzy talk about the Knicks future for the past 10 years..really past 20 years.
Lillard would make them a second round exit at best

The Knicks would easily get outbid if Lillard were to be traded. It would be foolish for the Blazers to take a lesser package from the Knicks just to appease him.

the knicks don't have one blue chipper on their roster. none of their young guys project to be stars. quickley and toppin are ok. lillard at 30+ going there means they'll need to gut it and then try to sign 2 other stars via UFA b/c randle ain't that guy imho.

Would be funny if after all this time they got a return centered around Kemba Walker

By the time the Knicks send 40,000,000 in salary, Dame will not have much talent left around him...

The Knicks are not trending in the right direction. They’re in the same place they’ve been forever. No number 1 and pieces that aren’t showing they can be a number 1.

They're currently 11-12, my guy, with a 5-8 record at home this season. I don't know what direction that is but it does not sound like the "right direction" to me.

I disagree. The Knicks definitely could get outbid by other teams, but if Dame asked out, the team would respect his wishes for what team he wants to goto out of respect for what he’s done for the team over the past decade.

I hope the Knicks don’t trade Rose for him.

They're 3 games out of 3rd place. East is a cluster. They were the butt of everyone's jokes for a decade. Now they are competent and competitive. Also I don't actually think I'm your guy.
