Last I checked "His country and his people" are here in the good ol USA. Or is Enes saying he turned his back on 'his people' meaning Taiwan? As in Lin is sucking up to mainland China? So much to ponder.

Mr. Freedom doesn't realize his paychecks contain money from Chinese revenue. He's a typical grifter, using human rights causes as a way to bring attention to yourself.

After Enes went on Tucker Carlson and called it the best day of his life I have a hard time taking it seriously when he criticizes anybody.

I do agree Kanter is kinda cherry picking (no better than LeBron in this regard). In many of the Muslim countries including Turkey, you still get executed for being gay as you mentioned, in addition to women being sub-human.

I don’t think that’s the issue. I think it’s more that his criticism is narrow, and if you are against racism or anything else, it should apply to all people. All situations. Him being conservative or liking Tucker isn’t the issue.

I know, but it's like pronouncing Jose as Joe-say. It just comes off as very American in a negative way especially when used in the context of criticizing LeBron from a geopolitical/current event perspective.

reasonable point. players who have made a lot less money than lin have chosen not to play there for political reasons.

i am all for player giving their opinions even if those can be abrassive (not that being agressive is bad in itself, it depends)

I think we could criticize Kanter this way if he was getting money from Saudi or any of those countries. If one is going to counter criticize him, it should be in accordance with his criticisms. Kanter seems to be calling people out if they are getting paid by China or making money directly via China in some way. I don't really agree with his methods as it lacks tactfulness and nuance, but as far as I know, Kanter isn't getting money or profiting directly due to any of those countries/regimes.

I agree with you, and I don't have a problem with conservatives by any means, but Tucker is a bit more than your average conservative to say the least and i'll leave it at that.

That’s a fair point. In this particular case Kanter is banned from his own country for speaking against their crimes too.
