Then who is? If you have Wagner #2 right now, I don't have a problem with it. But if two rookies are posting similar numbers at the end of the season, the player on the team with the better record will win. That's how it's always been. This is a league which rewards winning. Orlando is currently on pace for 14 wins.

and hopefully #1 pick !

Watch us finally get some lotto luck in this rebuild, we have constantly got lower picks then our record... AND its a freaking horrible draft, thats the Magics luck.

Dude is like a mix of Joker and Kevin McHale with a bit more athleticism then both...not saying he's a better player obviously

Consider that the more amount of energy you put on offense, the less amount of energy you can put on defense.

I've read somewhere that Mobley's defense is so good that it allows players to focus their game more on the offensive end.

Don't you think it odd that everyone is having better years right after Mobley has been drafted?

Not really, no.

Garland and Allen are still very young players who are continuing to develop. It was expected that they would be better. Mobley being there has definitely played a hand in that, but it was going to happen regardless.

Vampirate wrote:If you take Mobley off the Cavs, his defense goes away and then the other players need to put that much more energy into their defense and thus less energy into their offense.

You DO realize that Mobley is not the only one playing elite defense out there, right?

Vampirate wrote:It's an effect that you wouldn't notice unless you really think about it.

I notice it every time he gets subbed out.

Garland's real bump in production was from Year 1 to Year 2, from year 2 to year 3 he did get better, but last year the Cavs were deep in the lottery. Garland was producing at a similar rate last year to this year in numbers.

Jarret Allen is now in his 6th year and has been a 12/10 player for the past 5. Usually you'd see the biggest improvement in year 3 or 4. He's having his biggest improvement in year 6.

As for the bolded, the Cavs are now fighting for position in the playoffs. Mobley's defense is a huge part of that and it has probably had a trickle down effect.

I think someone on this forum said that the team tends to take on the identity of their best player.

Rubio when he was playing definitely helped, but this Cavs team didn't know success until they drafted Mobley. It's that Cut and dry (for me anyways).

Stat wise there may be players on the Cavs who look like they are the best players, but Mobley (to me anyways) is the Cavs best player.

You need to dial yourself in a little better on the Cavs other than Mobley. :)

that highlight package of Alperen was a treat.

once Sengun grows into his "manbody" , I mean goodness sake he's only friggin 19! he'll be scary and I genuinely think if he put his mind -and body- into it, there's no reason he couldn't be as offensively effective as Giannis one day. he's got absolutely fantastic footwork for his size and just a "cerebral" player with a healthy dose of flair and eye for the spectacular. he's obviously not a god level body like Giannis but I'm curious to see if he can find that balance of maintaining his touch and speed while beefing up a bit and become a star in this league one day

Scottie Barnes has really fallen off. I don't see Raptors fans posting here anymore lol.

I’m convinced he’s injured. I mentioned how bulky and slow he looked a couple of weeks ago and most fans told me he always looked this slow. His first month, he was ALL over the court. I don’t see that anymore. Hopefully it’s just a rookie wall.

Kuminga down the road will make some teams feel bad on passing on him in draft.

that is why you analyze scottie the prospect not his day to day. reminds me of wiseman fans hyping him up hes the next superstar when he was hot first month. common thing is these guys mechanics suck they will shoot 30% from 3 and 60% from ft.
theres a reason why i have completely moved offf to mobley hype train and it took 1 preseason game. he had it all blew me away.

scottie is a much raw prospect than patrick williams and as raw as giannis. dont let his 15ppg fool you. masai has two choice. he can dump scottie and get a kawhi type run this yr or dump siakam and tank for chet. theres no in between for this team. if they keep both scottie needs to be an all star right away otherwise raptors will be a treadmill team it will be painful to watch. kuminga is another similar variation of scottie who will also continue to struggle until game slows down.

Yeah, he really does.

To even pretend that Allen hasn't been a huge factor, especially when you consider how poorly he was used in Brooklyn, is a disservice to the leaps and bounds Allen has made as a player. He's a legitimate all star candidate and one of the top rim protecting bigs in the league right now.

Franz plays like a 10 year vet. Another solid outing with 19/5/7/1/2 on 8-11 shooting.

Suggs played well too. 12/7/6 on 5/8 shooting in 22 minutes. 6 TOs though. He needs to clean up the handle.

Funny, I was expecting an avalanche of Raptor fans to call me uninformed or stupid before getting validation

lmao barnes making very public his knee is why he's playing subpar these days.

fear can be a strong scent but insecurity just reeks. really, it just sucks for him he's the only player in the league playing through pain.

O come on man. I know you have a horse in this race but Barnes isn’t some diva. Any unbiased fan would tell you the same. This is just such a silly take.

Franz is unmatched for consistency and efficiency surely. I don't know the stats but he's just so damn good. I live international so only really watch Magic games so i'm only going off box scores for others. What a draft ey

tbh i'm less concerned about barnes and more just annoyed how people wrote cade off as a bust in his first ten games coming off an apparently significant ankle injury but are now giving barnes so much allowance because his knee is a bit hobbled, as if no other nba player plays with hobbled joints.

the raps' medical team cleared him, his coach played him 33 minutes today, AND he still looked more explosive than cade. how many excuses can be made? i've seen a ton of posts that barnes is only playing poorly because he's the 5th option offensively. how would you describe those takes?

I think he's getting better and better as the season goes on. He's 1 of like 6 starters to play every game.
