Freddy is having a terrific season and has been on a real tear lately. Last 5 games:
33 pts, 7 asts, 2 rbd, 2 steals
35/5/5/1 stl
31/9/4/1 bl/2
27/12/7/1/3
31/9/4/2
in those 5 games he shot 32/62 from 3pt and is now shooting 44/40/88 on the season
on the season Freddy is:
#1 in the NBA in minutes played
#19 in ppg
#14 in apg
#13 in steals per game
#7 in 3 pointers made
#15 in VORP
Raptors have been killed by injuries and COVID but are back to .500 now and have won 5 of 6. Most Raps fans think steady Freddy has been the best player on the team this year and deserves to be an all-star. What does the rest of the GB think?

NO. He's on the fringe, Raptors are a lottery team.

Yes. His impact metrics have been ridiculous this season.
#8 in EPM
#4 in RAPTOR
#20 in RAPM

I saw this on the Lowe podcast.
No, he's the best player on a play-in team. Who outside of Canada is paying frontcourt tickets in Cleveland to watch All-Star Fred Vanvleet.

No. East is WAY too guard heavy and the Raps are WAY too bad.

So I guess no Celtics either then, since they are under .500? No Trae or Towns either? I mean, if under .500 teams shouldn't have any all-stars because they are WAY too bad.

I'd like him to get in.

No. Not good enough and raptors are 10th seed. Maybe if they were top 3 team.

Maybe the same people who paid to see Freddy killing it in the NBA finals?

Raptors are better than Atlanta. I guess Trae can't go to the ASG either.

HELL NO! This is a cute story, but the All Star game is for actual stars who lead their teams to wins.

Raptors haven't had full roster until last 3 games and they are on 3 game winning streak ...all 3 games blow out. Raptors will make it to the playoff.

If Fred keeps this up and Raptors pile up more wins before voting ends, I can see it. I mean if guys like Trae, LaMelo, Beal are being pencilled in as all-stars, I don’t see why Fred can’t get some consideration

Irrelevant to the current situation. ASG is in February.

Guess Lebron won’t be there since he’s led his team to the same record as Toronto this season?
So many infantile responses in this thread.
I doubt Fred makes it simply because the East is so guard heavy this year. Trae, Demar, Lavine, Beal and Harden are all going to be in front of him and then there’s a bunch of guys having just as good a year as Van Vleet vying for the last spot. Hope he makes it but don’t think it will happen.

Casuals. Raptors literally have only one more loss than the 5th seed 76ers.
Currently hold the 11th best record in the league.

lol theres some Raptors fans who wouldn't trade FVV for Simmons. As many issues as Simmons has, hes a better player than FVV.
