Aaron was a very important part of a finals team and was one of the few players who ever really thrived playing next to Iverson, which I think is a big testament to him. I'm not talking about assist numbers, because he never really had the balls in his hands, but in terms of court vision, making the right play, and executing difficult passes at difficult end of shot clock situations.

I always thought the 76ers supporting cast should have gotten more credit, a la the '07 era Lebron Cavaliers. There weren't any superstars, but there were a lot of guys who played their roles efficiently next to Iverson.

This is the kind of thread where the OP needed to post some video evidence in support. Otherwise who here even remembers this guy enough to have an opinion one way or the other?

No, the best passing SGs ever are big-name players like Michael Jordan, Dwyane Wade, Manu Ginobili and James Harden. Aaron McKie was an average player with above-average defense in his prime but nothing else particularly special about his game.

McKie averaged 4 or more assists exactly once in a 13-year-career.

So obviously the thread title should read "Aaron McKie was undeniably the best passing SG ever!"

He wasn't even the best passing SG on his own team lol. Eric Snow was the PG and Iverson was the SG.

Aaron Mckie was a very good player.

He was an all-around guy, he could play some minutes as a pure PG, some minutes as a SF...he could really play 1-3. Nice handles.

6'5 with an strong frame, he was a nice defender.

Smart, balanced and tough, he was a positive player on both sides.

Very good passer as a SG, but I wouldn't say that he was one of the best ever at his position...come on. Not even close.

didn't realize Kobe was almost top 30 all time in assists, one of the top SG's to have that many career assists

i wouldnt say hes the best, but he was kinda sorta interesting in the way he offered playmaking without the scoring in an era where individual scoring was so coveted. he was out there with a lot of other offensively challenged players. He basically was a pg for the 76ers it was pretty cool to see such a strong dude kinda run the offense like that.

Mckie? Really? Give it a break. That Sixers team needed a depth badly. He was a scrub.
