Dude was like the hottest prospect in while but he choose to go to LSU instead of place where he could possibly play for a national championship. Was that a red flag that showed his lack of dedication to the game and to improving?

No. He made that decision as a child. And many other pros made similar decisions. It means absolutely nothing.

The fact that they lost so many games and missed the tournament his one year at LSU was the red flag.

The only other #1 overall pick I can think of that lost that much his one year in college was…Markelle Fultz.

He chose LSU because his godfather was a coach there. A guy going to a school because a family member is a coach isn’t all that rare.

Plus it wasn’t like LSU was some horrible school either, they were in the tournament the year prior Ben going there.

It's pretty shocking they weren't better that year. Quarterman + Blakeney were really good. Johnny Jones was such a horrible coach

but otoh he may have had much too cr@ppy high school academics to qualify for a school with stricter entrance codes

I never understood the criticism. Making fun of a school for paying players or admitting them IE Rose isn't an insult.

I to get the feel that K is cleaner than most...but that may have changed in the last 5-6 years once he started going after OAD's and is beating Cal at his own game. Even still, who cares.

The most excited I’ve been as a Duke fan in probably 5 years. Not sarcasm either, K has been living off of name recognition for close to a decade now. 2010 was the last time K was actually K. He’s been flat out bad the last 5 years.

I’m fully aware of his coasting. A lot of people have discussed it. Although, you’re the first Duke fan I’ve seen admit it.

Obviously that doesn’t take anything away from his HOF career. I’m glad he’ll be gone and hope it means we can steal a few more recruits from you guys. Probably wishful thinking though.
