Warriors Owner (minority) Take on Uyghurs in China

Post#1 » by Duke4life831 » Mon Jan 17, 2022 7:27 pm

I know this might be considered a spicy topic, but it’s trending all over social media and thought I would share it here because it has a big NBA tie in.

What a nice guy! lol he's taking that China money. But to be frank no one cares not just him. No one is going to risk trade and money from China.

He's probably saying what most people are thinking. Everyone pays lip service to the Uyghurs, but after they send that tweet, they go back to liking photos of food on insta.

You have to watch the whole video. Or at least that specific conversation.

I watched the entire podcast this morning after seeing this tweet. You’re not really missing any extra context here.

People are so confident about their stupidity these days. Uyghurs literally helped defeat the Americans and create the CCP. Many of them friends of the Chinese presidents dad.

Having said that, I don't doubt that that guy doesn't care about them. That's the culture in his country, money over everything.

Liking food on insta means you don’t care about human rights abuse? It is one thing if you don’t prioritize it as highly as you should, but it is an entirely different thing to say you don’t care. This guy is a piece of crap. As a human, he is a piece of crap. There is no difference in saying you don’t care about what is going on with the Uighurs and saying you didn’t care about what happened to Jews during the holocaust. This owner is a piece of crap and if Adam Silver doesn’t take action then he is spineless.

Straight up clown. I hope league gets this guy out even though guys like LeChina and others share same opinions.

You are missing context because he gives justification as to why he doesn't care about China's situation, in relation to America's own domestic situation. He goes on to list a dozen things he does care about.

That clip is absolutely missing context. Whether you agree with him or not is a separate matter. And for the record, I don't completely agree with him either.

There is no context here. What he said was awful. There is no context that makes this OK. Saying you don’t care about slavery is awful. Saying you don’t care about what happened to Jews during the holocaust is awful. Saying you don’t care about genocide in China is awful. The guy is a piece of crap.

I think next to Houston the Warriors fanbase is the biggest beneficiary of the Chinese audience. This could alienate that pool of money the Lacob's get
Sam Hinkie gets removed from the league for enacting a plan approved by the fanbase yet NIco Harrison and Patrick Dumont keep their job for alienating their fanbase. Make it make sense.

That is included in the tweet. One of the bullet points in the tweet mentions his comparison of China to the US. If anyone wants to see the entire video. Here is the link to the entire podcast episode

The human rights talk begins at 14:45 of the video.

He says it poorly but he’s not wrong.

Everyone’s “cares” the same way they care about kids starving all over the world. Without sacrifice caring is just a fluffy American word.

Will to win is nothing without the will to practice. By all of us watching the NBA regularly we “care” as much as he does and it’s a flat out lie to think otherwise.

I'm not sure this is comparable to the Holocaust, where 6 million Jews died and millions of other minorities were murdered. But nonetheless, actions speak louder than words. And most people say they care but don't actually do anything about it. It's easy to talk the talk, but not walk the walk. At least this guy keeps it 100.
