I hope and assume the "good" refers to his being ejected.

In which case, I agree. Go ahead and heckle guys for their play but there is no reason or call for this kind of garbage.

Modern society has emboldened people to disrespect people whenever they want because they know it generally won't lead to any type of physical conflict. If Melo were to show up at that guy's workplace or house, I guaranteed he would cower, apologize, say he meant nothing by it, say he's a fan and ask for a picture.

"boy" is racial undertone? White people don't call each other boy as a sign of disrespect? Philly fan watching his home team full of black guys is racist?

Yes, "boy" has a long history of being used to marginalize and discriminate against black men.

I've used this word multiple times while in the US, with no intention of racial abuse, just run of the mill abuse, it's also very common word.

- "boy" is racial undertone?

Yes, obviously. Unless you were born 2 minutes ago you know this.

- White people don't call each other boy as a sign of disrespect?

They do. Even in professional wrestling they do in order to degrade their opposition but know better than to ever cross racial lines with it because of the long standing history.

- Philly fan watching his home team full of black guys is racist?

Someone watching a black performer for entertainment doesn't somehow mean they aren't racist.

Shame on the black dude next to him for not saying anything, instead just took the ejection making him look just as guilty.

Long history in this country dating back to slavery of white men using the term to infantilize black men and restrict their agency/highlight power differentials. Doing it in the context of sports fits pretty neatly into that as well.
