Trade Deadline Intel from Jake Fischer (Wizards targeting Sabonis)
* Washington Wizards are being described as one of the more active teams on the NBA trade market.
* Wizards have discussed adding Jerami Grant and Domantas Sabonis.
* Bradley Beal has signaled plans to re-sign in Washington this summer. The Wizards can offer Beal a five-year, $242 million extension, that's one year and roughly $60 million more than any rival can present.
* The Wizards have given no indications they'll entertain a Beal trade this month. Executives near and far are bracing against a perceivably developing trend, where stars like Ben Simmons request a trade shortly after signing a lucrative extension.
* The Pacers are seeking a package similar to or greater than the haul Nikola Vucevic drew for the Orlando Magic. Only Sacramento, New Orleans and Washington have been linked as Sabonis suitors.
* Washington would likely have to part with at least two of Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija and Corey Kispert, with additional salary of either Thomas Bryant or Montrezl Harrell, plus further draft capital. And that still might not reach Indiana's high asking price.
* The Wizards recently made outgoing calls assessing Harrell's trade value. Rival teams believe Washington is showcasing Bryant ahead of the deadline.
* The Pacers front office was high on Hachimura ahead of the 2019 draft, was also considering Kispert this last draft.
* The Wizards have made Spencer Dinwiddie available. It is difficult to imagine a wide market after he signed a three-year, $54 million contract.
* Harrison Barnes had been mentioned as a primary target for Utah. But Joe Ingles' ACL injury has now further limited the Utah Jazz's flexibility.
* The Cavs have placed calls on Eric Gordon and Caris LeVert. Both asking prices have been described as too high for Cleveland.
* Toronto has phoned rival teams gauging what Dragic and a first-round pick could bring. Robert Williams has been mentioned as a name on Toronto's list of big-man targets.
* Robert Covington has been described as the most likely Trail Blazer dealt before Feb. 10. While momentum has seemed to stall on any Jusuf Nurkic trade, Ben McLemore's name has emerged in recent conversations.
* Minnesota is exploring trade avenues involving Patrick Beverley and Malik Beasley. Marcus Smart has been mentioned as a target.
* Boston continues searching for landing spots for Dennis Schroder and Josh Richardson. A framework of Schroder to Chicago for Troy Brown Jr. and a second-round pick has circulated around the league, while the Jazz have been consistently mentioned as a possible destination for Richardson.
* The Lakers are searching to find Kent Bazemore a new home. While it's believed Paul Millsap would prefer to land in Chicago, having a connection to Arturas Karnisovas from their shared Denver days, Lakers have been mentioned as a suitor should he reach the buyout market.
* The Pelicans have become repeatedly linked to Eric Gordon. New Orleans has registered interest in various Trail Blazers, particularly Covington and CJ McCollum. The Pelicans are also said to be revisiting a trade package for Harrison Barnes that was discussed as a potential sign-and-trade for Josh Hart this past offseason.
* Phoenix has maintained its efforts to move Dario Saric, and the Suns are searching for an upgrade to their wing rotation. Eric Gordon has been linked as a possible target.
* New York is looking to free playing time for Cam Reddish. Nerlens Noel, Evan Fournier, Alec Burks and Kemba Walker are all considered available.

Anyone want THT, Nunn and the '27 1st for a solid, fringe all-star?

The wolves would really look to move Patrick Beverly? Possible playoff spot on the line and battle between 8 through 10 you better hope it works

The Pelicans going all-in for Eric Gordon is a terrible idea.

That proposed deal for Sabonis from Washington is terrible, I hope the Pacers keep him or hold out for a better offer from another team

I wonder how much more on top of Dragic and 1st it would take to get Robert Williams. I would love him in Toronto.
I can't imagine we have the pieces with out terrible terrible bench.

I don't understand the Wizards thinking here. If i was them, no way would i want to pay Beal a 5 year max and be locked into this mediocre team.

Re: Trade Deadline Intel from Jake Fischer (Wizards targeting Sabonis)
If Sabonis gets traded, it's going to be for a lot more than the rumored deals that have been going around the past few weeks. Don't see any way the Kings get him unless they move Fox (or Haliburton, which hopefully isn't even on the table). If Fox isn't included, then we'd most likely be offering unprotected picks, which isn't a very smart thing to do.
Don't see anything with the Wizards either. Hachimura & Avdija/Kispert also isn't enough unless there are a number of picks added.
Bulls do need another point guard until Lonzo & Caruso return, but I'm not sure Schroder is the answer with their current roster. Don't know if they have the pieces, but I think they should target Robert Covington instead.

Over/under Beal asking for a trade in 2 seasons into extension?

If I'm Charlotte I'm easily giving the Pacers the Vucevic deal for Sabonis. What are we waiting for

Washington, Bouknight and a future 1st would be roughly the same value

I don't think he or the several players listed are the primary targets.
Pels have BI/Herb who are younger better versions of either Barnes/(BI) or Covington/(Herb). What contender can use a 2 way SF that has a young PG available ? (Philly/Simmons)
Both Eric Gordon & CJ don't fit the NO's young teams timeline, or the fact they're currently 13 games under 500 heading to the break. As you elude too, NO's need a long term option to shell out their pick capital for. Same reason they traded Jrue away, same reason CJ doesn't make sense. both targets aged & on large contracts better suited to land on a contender. CJ being a top 50 player & Gordon a former player, could potentially meet Philly's primary demands for Simmons if NO's throw in a pick or 2 to bolster the trade value ?...
Kings have rumored interest for Sabonis, with Fox rumored availability/(not actively shopped) where the NO's native would be & has been a rumored target of NO's
Cavs rumored interest for Simmons have also been linked here to Eric Gordon.. when they're currently trying to move on from Sexton, another young combo guard facing extension, only to target an older verson, doesn't make sense either, until you realize he might not be the primary interest.

Salary doesn't match on that. And the Hornets can't trade a 1st until '24.
Oubre would likely have to be involved somehow. Or Hayward maybe? Obviously the Pacers would need to dump other salary in the case of the latter. IDK.

I'd imagine Boston would ask for OG. Which would be a no. But I think that's the level of difference of value.
Outside of our top 5, Raps just really lack the capital to get a difference maker. Picks is all we have.
