Stop f*cking kidding me. Cut Kawhi out of this conversation. He doesn't belong here.

Yeah lol at kawhi.

Anyway im not sure. Between Jokic, Giannis and KD for me.

The latter can’t dominate a whole regular season like the other two though so probably one of them.

Jokic, Giannis, and Curry are the clear cut top 3 here. The fact Curry even in a shooting slump basically had no drop off in terms of impact was crazy. Just shows the value of all his off ball game is really where he creates his value. All that said, pretty much impossible to pick anyone but Jokic right now...he's simply having a GOAT level season.

I think if you were to ask people to name their top 3, the 2 most common names will be Jokic and Giannis. Some might have KD in there, some might have Curry, some might have Embiid, but ya I think the vast majority of them will have Jokic and Giannis in there. So I think it comes down to those two.

And I think you can make a convincing argument for either one. I really think it probably comes down to personal preference on playing style.

I personally would side with Jokic. I dont think anyone mixes the ability to be an elite facilitator and an elite scorer, all without monopolizing the offense. Ya he gets a ton of touches, but no one is just sitting back and watching Jokic dribble the air out of the ball. The ball is constantly moving and you can tell everyone is moving off the ball because they know if they make the right cut or get open somehow, the ball is going to find them. He averages 1 dribble per touch, most guys that are high volume scorers and high volume assists guys tend to average anywhere from 5-6 dribbles per touch. I just think Jokic is as close to a perfect offensive player as Ive ever seen honestly.

But ya Im not going to argue with anyone that says Giannis.

Embiid? joker? Lol sorry but they are 5s in a scoring wings world. Talented and great players. Regular season MVPs. Great stats but when it comes down to winning when it matters they ain't in the class as the top 3 players.
Embiid got beat by Trae a guard.
Joker swept by cp3 and Booker. Guards.

Luka without his 2nd and 3rd players has more winning impact in a serious game as seen recently vs embiid or against Kawhi and pg13.

Playoffs gimme KD Curry or Giannis(only cause he drives like a guard and has Middleton)
Hell even LeBron over embiid or joker. No offense to their skill which I'm not doubting. I'm a big fan of both love embiids post game and footwork. Love joker's vision and patience. They should be leading in MVP convos. But it's just the nature of the game right now. I personally rather trust a team led by curry KD or Giannis+Middleton.

Durant or Giannis. Probably giannis because of defensive impact aswell.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

I'm not going to be upset at anyone saying Jokic, dude is a virtuoso, the Embiid guys at least have a bit of a case, the rest are just silly.

um...they lost to teams that were better than their own, not because theyre not guards.

i cant believe people post on a basketball forum for this long and have this poor level of thinking about the game

This season, Jokic, Embiid, Giannis maybe in that order. But you can't count out KD - we'll see in the playoffs. If the Nets even make it that is.

Also Giannis had to adapt to playing out of being a roll man to stop teams just nerfing him with 3 man walls so kinda the opposite of being a guard.

How’s traes hawks (exposed this year) better than the 76ers with Simmons Tobias curry and a deep bench?

Joker got swept as mvp and supposed clear best player vs an old known choker in cp3 and a “chucker who didn’t know how to win” booker
Ofc the suns are better as a team. But the nuggets would’ve lost if one of cp3 or booker was out IMO in 6.

Giannis warps defenses like curry does. But isn’t doing slow post moves where the defense can recover like embiid.
