No one wants to trade for Christian Wood or Jerami Grant?

I'm surprised that no contender has traded for them yet. They can be a legit #3 on a championship contender.

I'm 100% sure theyve been receiving offers.

not either is a true 3 on a "contender" unless the other 2 are top 10 players

but yes contender should go after them.

#3? You’re not winning the championship if either of these guys are your #3.

I like Grant, he could be a number 3. Wood is a stat padder and will never play a major role on a winning team.

Wood is a tricky one. Chicago for DJJ + Troy Brown (both expirings) + Blazers pick (first round pick protected top 14 in 2022-28, else 2028 second round pick) maybe?

Why would a team trade for guys that expect star money and roles when they're just above average starters?

Would love Grant for the blazers but not for anything over 20 million a year and it sounds like he wants a big raise.

I‘d really love to see Grant in a Blazers jersey but only for reasonable costs

Sometimes you look at a guys stats and be surprised on why he has bounced around so much in the league. You think to yourself, damn this guy puts up some numbers, why is no one keeping this guy around.

Then you watch a few of his games and it becomes very clear why they dont stick to a team. Christian Wood is pretty much the current poster child of this. 6 teams in 6 years. I usually hate the empty stat talking point, but if there was ever a guy that was that, its Wood. Its hard to explain, but every time I watch that guy play I always end up thinking to myself, "thank god Im not rooting for the team he is on."

Even teams like the Nuggets or Bucks who are looking for a legit backup big. I think those teams are better off with stop gaps like Cousins and Moose.

When it comes to Grant, he should be a much better defensive player than he is. Ideally he is your 3rd or 4th option that also brings good defense. But I think he wants a bigger role and a contract that is bigger than a player for that role. Aaron Gordon is who Grant should be but he's not.

I really dont think too many championship teams are looking for guys like these two. I think they're looking for legit star players, or good smart vets that know their roles and know how to play winning ball.

I think that right there is the issue for Grant: He's in the Tobias Harris dilemma where he wants #1 option money, but is realistically a 3a/3b or 4th option at best. If he were to accept that, he'd have a lot more suitors and would be able to extend his career. He's not good enough to be your #1 option and as a #2 wouldn't work either. #3 would be iffy and it was a main reason he left Denver despite getting the same deal he signed for with Detroit as he didn't want to have to fight with MPJ for the 3rd billing. If he were willing to accept a lesser role that suits him more it'd help him out a lot. Sure it wouldn't be #1 money, but who cares.

Detroit should've cashed out on him and con a team into taking his deal for draft capital before this season. Now you could still get value, but he only has 1.5 seasons left and if they are smart, they take the best deal they can get at the deadline as I've noticed that he and Bey struggle when together with Cunningham and I'm shipping Grant out in order to give Bey more leeway.

As for Wood 100% agree. This dude has severe maturity issues and that incident where he refused to come back into the game for what was later determined to be a covid related issue I think didn't help. It was that game where KPJ left during the middle of a game due to the team playing like crap. With Sengun's emergence, I really would take whatever I could get for him at this point as Sengun is far more ahead of the curve(still needs to work on pick and roll defense and moving his feet more but that'll come in time with more game reps).

He's lucky the Rockets gave him that 3/41M deal. Best thing to happen after moving around various teams and playing in the g-league.

Problem with Grant is that he wants to be the #1 or #2 option.

Send Wood to Kerr or Pop, they turn him into an All Star in one season.

He’s never played on a winning team, just playing on a winning team for a few months with players who demand respect and you’ll see an excellent stretch 4/5, good at handling the ball, occasional good defensive game, 10+ rebounds, great 3pt shooter.

What he sucks at is understanding winning culture and what it takes to win a title. It’s true no one owes him that, but someone is going to do that and have a great player at a reasonable price.

The Rockets were never shopping Wood.
They had a few offers, but they had no intention of trading him unless the offer blew them away.
Several insiders have said this.

Because of Wood's great contract, No doubt Rockets are asking for a good young player+Good pick, Which isnt his worth

Grant will want a big extension, something hes not worth. No doubt they would be recieving offers, but they have them for this off-season, and no reason now to lower your asking price, as both teams would want some good assets

Despite widespread interest in Jerami Grant from Washington, Los Angeles, Utah, Chicago, Minnesota and others, it seems unlikely any rival team will be willing or able to meet Detroit's lofty asking price of multiple first-round picks. Grant has a strong relationship with Pistons general manager Troy Weaver, and there have been clear indications of Weaver's interest in keeping Grant entrenched within Detroit's rebuild, sources said. If Grant is not dealt before the deadline, there remains a strong possibility the Pistons will revisit Grant trade scenarios around the NBA draft.

That's pretty much it. Grant is a very good role player and he had a positive impact on Denver when he was there, but he was let walk because he demanded too much money.

He's been doing well in Detroit on a bigger role, but if he is traded to a contender I see him going back to the role he had in Denver.

He's still valuable, but I imagine the asking price from Detroit is too high for what he really is, especially considering his relatively high salary.

On the other hand Wood is cheaper, but I'm not convinced he's able to help a contender.

I guess we'll see, I doubt Pistons are that determined with the team in last place where they ultimately want to be right now.

Thought Denver offered him the same deal but he turned it down and wanted to play for Casey and a bigger role.
