Your opinions.
Averaged more than 20 for 6 straight years, going onto 7, on a very good Portland team.

I don't know. But I'll say this.
He is clearly the best active player with no All-Star appearance.

The west was just so stacked with guards, he just couldn’t be justifiably on the all Star team:
Curry
Harden
CP3
Westbrook
Lillard
Klay
Mitchell
Were typically the 6-7 guards nominated for the all Star team.

No. Good stats, but so many good guys ahead of him

Nah...if you play no defense, you better be an elite scorer if you want to be recognized as an all star. Lillard fits that description. CJ was/is a couple rungs down.

I'd say no. 2020-21 was his best chance.
He was red-hot to start the season - 27ppg on .620 TS in 13 games and then he got injured.
Missed 2 months and then averaged 22 ppg on .540 TS for the rest of the season.

Willie Green seems to think so. Basically handed the team over to CJ in the two games since the trade.
No he was never an all star. CJ to me has always been a guy you were fine being your #2 option, but ideally he would be your #3 option. And probably in an ideal world he would be your super sub 6th man.
A 6'3 gunner that doesnt play defense and prefers to get the majority of his shots off of the dribble. Dont get me wrong this isnt me hating on CJ. There is no doubt a role for a player like this and he is damn good at it. But no he has always been a tier below All Star, especially being out West during his career.

If he was in the east he would probably have couple ones but in the West no, there was just too much talent...

He would have had a good case last season if he hadn't gotten injured. In the first 12 games until he got injured (note that the season began in December last year): 27.6 / 4.3 /5.3 on 47%/43.4%/84.4% shooting.
That would've been the year.

Love CJ, but Dame was fighting for all-star appearances in the west. If CJ played in the East, maybe. If CJ was the #1 option on a team instead of #2 behind Dame, maybe. But neither were the case. He did try, Jennifer.

God no. Dude's hella over rated. Good scorer but can't defend a chair.
Think about the guards in the West since he's been in the league.

He would’ve made it last year if he hadn’t gotten hurt. He might’ve even been All NBA.

I think it’s the other way around. He doesn’t work as a #2. To get the best out of him, he needs to be your #1. You have to hand the keys to him.

He was fringe all-star level, but never deserved it over anybody on the West, so he was never snubbed, but he was good enough to make it in the East who had a guard shortage for a bit.

Andrew Wiggins was just named a All Star starter averaging 18/4/2. Yeah, I think CJ has been deserving of a bench spot on the All Star team more years than not.
Since becoming a starter in 2015 he has averaged 22/4/4 on 40% shooting behind the arc on a team that has constantly been in the top half of the WC. Yeah, hes a All Star.
