They need to do something about all the blown "attempts". Maybe deduct 0.5 points from the total score for every failed attempt

it is what it is. Once every few years someone comes along that's super athletic. But its hard to be creative anymore, everythings been done. Whatever if you hate it don't watch it.

There have been worse, such as the John Wall team format, or rigged ones like the Blake over the Kia, this one suffers from recency bias.

The dunk contest is on life support. Outside of the LaVine vs. Gordon years, it’s been pretty terrible for a while. None of the big names participating makes it that much worse. Scrap it altogether for a while until some of the big guns agree to participate.

Gordon/LaVine proved that a great dunk contest can still exist. You just need the right guys with the right amount of flair, panache and showmanship.

They should seriously scrap it. Wait for some nostalgia to kick in and maybe the demand will start to grow for it, then with the fan demand we may see some young stars that actually will be willing to do it. No one wants to watch NBA scrubs struggling to dunk a basketball for 45 minutes.

Make it every 2-4 years. Make the prize money 2-4 times bigger to try attract some big names. That was just embarrassing for all involved.

3pt contest was great like normal. the new skills comp was sweet, I just wish it ended on something more skillful than a half court shot lol.

But that dunk contest was an abomination. Even the showmanship was bad, and that's usually the thing to take away from it if anything. I think next year they should invite people from outside the NBA, or get rid of it. At this point people just wanna see good dunks, and if we keep asking NBA players, this is all we're gonna get.

This was a slap in the face to real dunkers everywhere. Misses left and right, clown gimmicks.. Did they even practice? They should be fined $$$ for their performances.

They should give out 0s. The fact that the lowest score they can give is a 6 is a copout.
