We have a MUCH different definition of "obliterated" bc that was just a bunch of fast talk about Arenas characters which we all already know/understand. RJ is definitely in his feelings. Seems to be a trend with anyone who attempts to try Arenas

I don't think he's in his feelings. They are close friends and have this kind of relationship. Also almost everything he said was already public. I find it interesting you go straight to he's in his feelings like a guy can't roast his close friend online when the other does the same and that's the relationship they have.

Jefferson probably has 50 IQ points on Arenas, so this isn’t exactly a fair beef. Hilarious nonetheless.

Gilbert should be taking responsibility for his choices he isn't a kid anymore

Few thoughts.

-There is no excuse to not liking RJ at this point. I can see how early on when he retired, he was pretty obscure on the national level, you'd only know him through the podcast, or if you watch the ESPN talking heads, or if you watch the Nets. But now, the guy is an established NBA media star and everyone should know and get his sense of humor. The guy is amazing.

-RJ and Arena (to my knowledge) are best of friends. This is all jokes and the stories are also all true. They dive super deep into the same stories here - with Nick Young and Gilbert on Road Trippin. I don't listen to this pod btw, this is the only episode i've ever watched and it was hilarious, 100% recommend.

-Gilbert was "special" in every meaning of that word. He probably had Jordan level talent if he wasn't this insane. And he was genuinely unhinged if you believe all the stories about him. One that RJ didn't mention in his tictok but they go into on the pod is how GIlbert as a 2nd rounder (they don't usual get guaranteed long term deals), was a free agent much sooner that his 1st round peers, got a massive extension and was making WAY more money than anyone from the 1st round, essentially he gamed the system. Misunderstood genius.

He just stated cause and effect of things relating to basketball

Cause: Gilbert's immaturity
Effect: Draft stock dropped significantly

Cause: Doing {Insert implied bad behavior}
Effect: Underperforming the next day in NCAA title game

It's not like he just came out of the blue and said "Gilbert did X, Y, Z in his personal life" and dropped the mic. Everything was in context.
