Is LeBron being a good leader a myth ? his body language is getting out of hand

Post#1 » by Klayforspicy » Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:44 pm

You can see on the playback of last nights game Bron constantly throwing his arms up in disgust whenever Lakers are unable to stop ball or secure some long rebound that has more to do with physics than effort

The dude is becoming unhinged, I haven’t seen anything like this since late Kobe but LeBron body language might be even worse

but when the other team gets in his face he has nothing to say??

Don't try to throw Kobe's name in this. He was never this bad. Not close. And Lebron has been this way since 2018 before he had the whole roster traded away at the trade deadline.

I never thought he was a good leader to begin with.

He was never considered a good leader. A great player, but never a good leader. Unless you consider being a Karen leadership.

Usually the best players are not the best leaders. Most of the times, it’s the stable vets that keep the house in order. Problem with the Lakers is they chose the unstable ones.

To be honest, I am undecided whether he is a leader at all or just a bad leader.

Historically, throughout his career, absolutely. One of the best.

This season, at age 37 worn down, getting blown out and with a dysfunctional franchise, no, his demeanour has been a big part of the problem for the Lakers this season.

It's funny how the armchair basketball experts here say LeBron is a bad leader and teammate yet not one of LeBron's current or former teammates have criticized LeBron for his leadership abilities. Every single one has good things to say about him:

He's always been garbage about this stuff, at least towards non big name players. He can't pull that pouty blame crap on Wade or even Westbrook so he just takes it all out on the Chalmers, JRs, THTs on his teams instead

LeBron has never been a leader.

All time great player but not a leader.

gilbert arenas once said on his pod that himself dwight howard and lebron james are all the same emotionally, and that lebron just maintains a better image and PR. lebron isnt the best as a leader, but to say hes terrible is hyperbole. old guys on bad teams act like this, thats just how its always going to be.

He's inarguably been a great leader at times in his career but in LA he's had a few years where it seems like all he does is pout.

He can still be called a good leader as 2015 and 2016 shown. But instances like this season should bar him from being called a great one.
Sam Hinkie gets removed from the league for enacting a plan approved by the fanbase yet NIco Harrison and Patrick Dumont keep their job for alienating their fanbase. Make it make sense.

We really questioning a guys leadership that lead 2007, 2015 and 2018 cavs to the finals with literally 0 help.

Not to mention Lebrons 2016 3-1 comeback against the greatest team of all time.

Yeah okay there pal.

For all his greatness and accomplishments, he really is the definition of a frontrunner.

He really is. When the going gets tough, don't expect LeBron to push through it.

LeBron has always been a sore loser, how it's affecting his leadership of the team. Has he give on on them? Have they given up on him? Is hard to judge without an ear in the locker-room.

But it's always just an awful look when he's calling out others for problems he sometimes creates because he's decided at his age he needs to rest on defense and screaming at the ref is somehow more important than getting back.

And of course he cares about his image and his stats, so he will look at his slash line and feel he's done his part and he will try to make it look like he wasn't accepting losing even though his +/- numbers recently suggest otherwise.

I don't care what anyone says, the reason half of lebrons teams underachieve relative to expectations is because of **** like this.

He alienates his teammates very quickly to the point I doubt they even enjoy coming into work and playing ball. Its happened literally everywhere he has gone, aside from maybe Miami?

His first year in LA was an embarrassment that many seem to forget. Screw record and all that, he was such a toxic person for the young kids.

When someone misses a shot this guys drops his shoulders EVERY TIME.

Does he really expect people to shoot 100% from his passes? Does he make every shot he shoots?

Having played with people like this, its not fun.
