Giannis is the best player in the league
Not Jokic, not Embiid, not Lebron and not KD.
Dude is basically a 7ft smarter Westbrook and ever improving jumper/offensive arsenal.
To the 14 teams that passed on him, just a reminder your GM had the opportunity to draft a top 5 GOAT.

It's definitely disputed but I won't be mad at you for picking Giannis.
After what Durant did last year vs the Bucks in the playoffs and what Jokic has been doing by himself mostly, it's a close race.

He’s definitely on his way to being a top 10 player of all time.

I don't have a problem with this take but he is nothing like Westbrick.
Only the playoffs separate the true great ones and frauds.

In order for a claim to be undisputed, there can be no questions or voices of dissent.
I dispute your claim, hence, your claim has sprung a leak

Agreed. Even though Luka+Brunson > Middleton+Holiday, Bucks are still 0.5 games ahead of Mavs because Giannis >>> DFS.

It's close and can be disputed, but Giannis is my #1

Hmm..it is close. However, I think it is a consensus.
It's not like MJ, or LeBron. Rather, more like Kobe or Duncan in terms of the Gap.
You could make a case for Jokic and KD. But Giannis as the best player is simply easiest to defend.
He's a force.

So it’s definitely disputed and I wouldn’t really blame GMs for passing on him considering we had YMCA highlights to judge him, he didn’t have a lot of basketball skills, and he grew 3 inches after being drafted.

Re: Giannis is the undisputed best player in the league
I mean its definitely disputable. Jokic won MVP last year, on his way to win it again this year. And its not like we didnt just see him put up a monster game last night. Hell these are Jokic's stats over the last 5 games
31/13/8 on a ridiculous 78 TS%.
I got no issue if someone has Giannis as the #1 guy, but ya no way can you call it an undisputed thing though.

Re: Giannis is the undisputed best player in the league
Three points:
1. Like I said a bunch of times on these boards, Giannis is the best player. Jokic is the only other answer I can respect, but the correct answer is Giannis.
2. Jokic is still the MVP - so far.
3. This one is why I'm making this post. Maybe four, five years ago - maybe less, I haven't looked it up - I wrote on these boards that Giannis was the most like Michael Jordan that I've ever seen. I could write all night about what I meant, but the shortest answer possible is "ability + mentality." Now here's what I really want to say: any of you LeBron Guys who grew up watching him and didn't understand why people were so stuck on MJ as the better player - why you got fed up when people talked about his "competitiveness" and "will to win," and you were like, "What even is that?" - just watch the highlights of tonight's game. If you get it, you get it.
Another way to put a similar idea is something I've written before: MJ always was what LeBron didn't become until Game 6 in Boston in 2012. (Also, LBJ tends to revert to his original self when things go sideways. As the self-helpers say, "The self is always shining through.")
That's all I got. I didn't even watch tonight's game. Had to work. I haven't read a word of the conversation on it. Haven't looked at the box score yet. I just got through watching the highlights.
Oh yeah, I also compared Giannis' block against Embiid the other night to MJ's last game in Utah. Just based on the highlights of this one, it seems like he did it again tonight.
And I called Embiid the Ewing of this generation after that game in Philly. Later, I saw someone repeating this and saying Giannis was the Olajuwon. I came so close to responding, "You're half right: Giannis is the Michael Jordan," but I love Hakeem, so I didn't respond.
Anyway, it's been a long day at work. If this rant makes no sense to you, just ignore it. But hopefully some of you are starting to get what I've been saying about Giannis for years: I've only seen this mentality/ability combo once before in my life.

Re: Giannis is the undisputed best player in the league
There have been periods in NBA history where there has been an undisputed best player in the league. 2021-22 certainly isn't one of those years.
There are, at minimum, four guys who on any given night look like the best player in the world. It wouldn't be remotely shocking if Giannis wasn't the best player in a series vs the 76ers or Nets.

Him and Jokic are evenish.
Then Luka, Durant and K.Leonard are a close call.
