The story that everyone will be following is Luka Doncic's availability for the start of the series after an apparent calf injury whose seriousness is yet to be determined. The early start on Saturday appears to be due, in part, to a Dallas Stars hockey game occupying the arena later that evening.

Time for Luka to win his first playoff series.

Mavs in 5 with Luka, Mavs in 7 without.

Luka has been playing at an MVP level recently.

I would have said Mavs in 6 without that F injury.
If he will miss no more than 2 games and he comes back at 100% of his form we still have a slim chance to win the series.

Mavs are favorites but i have no fu*king clue what to thing about Jazz. Last few season they allways where one of the best teams after all star break. This year they keep losing games in 4 qt.

That calf injury looked nasty, gonna have to go Jazz

No matter what the Jazz did this year, people would say they need to prove themselves in the playoffs. This is the first time in the last several years where the Jazz will be healthy and somewhat rested going in.

The Jazz are a good team, but they're matchup-dependent. They struggle against long, athletic, switchy defenders.

Mitchell has been bad in 4th quarters recently. The hope is that with some rest and better preparation he'll find his playoff groove.

Yeah, I can see a healthy mavs in 5 - though even that seems a bit optimistic. Without Luka? How do they even take a game from the Jazz? Who's going to score?

I think this is the best possible matchup for us. Not sure that we win but I do like our chances, so homer goggles on I said Utah in 6. I don't think we can escape the second round, though, but hopefully we get to watch a Luka-Mitchell shootout.

Hopefully he can make it back by Game 3 with the Mavs split 1-1.

Mavs are a one-man show. Jazz should win this unless Mitchell and Gobert's feud gets in the way. Jazz in 6.

Under the assumption that Doncic good to go from G1;

I fully expect Kidd to replace Kleber with Powell and go 5 out or at least maimize Kleber' minutes with Gobert'. Then, just enjoy to watch Luka either find open shooter(gobert's man) after drawing double team or go for a layup inside. I mean we literally threw 6'8' freaks of wings out there such as PG13-Kawhi-Batum-Morris, it wasn't enough to even slow him down.

It's finally time for Luka to eat Royce O'neal-Bojan-Gay-Clarkson's of the world and advance from 1st round.

If no Luka, I’m saying Jazz in 5 or 6.

With Luka, Mavs in 5 or 6.

I think this is utah in six, and due to Luka injury.

Jazz are a good team. In fact is a better roster than Mavs and they being 5th is a travesty. But they have done a terrible 2nd half of the season losing a significant number of games. First due to covid-injuries, then lack of chemistry.

The good thing the top 10 players are healthy, and as I said we're deep. Mavs is not, and too dependent to Luka. Even Jazz without Mitchell is stronger than Mavs without Luka.

If Luka isn't healthy Jazz win this series, if Luka is good the Mavs win
