did he make some comments about them while he was there or after or something? i know he was injured and underperformed, but am i missing something else?

He said he was gonna resign there at the begining of his last season. Might also be other things im not sure.

It's more about he did after he left (the sage, etc.,) than what he did -- or didn't do -- as a Celtic...

He announced to a garden full of fans that he plans to resign...then, he mailed in the playoffs, left, and stomped on the logo.

Plenty of things but mailing in the series vs the Bucks was the worst. He legit just quit on the team.

He missed his first playoffs with injury and watched rookie Tatum and our other young guys take us to the ECFs. And didn't even sit on the sidelines to support them. He actually scheduled an elective dental procedure during Game 7 of the ECFs.
Then at the start of the following season he publicly insulted them and said they don't know how to win without him. And to get the attention back on himself he stood up at the Garden and told everyone he was re-signing.
Then we had a mediocre season and he said the RS doesn't matter and the playoffs should just start so he can be a basketball genius and lead us to a title.
Then the playoffs started and he had the most inefficient playoff series on high volume shooting of any NBA player since the 1960s. And after each game he promised to play better and pass the ball more, but didn't. Then he said "who cares" and visibly gave up.
Then he went back on his word to re-sign and bounced to the Nets. Which imo was the only good part of his Celtics career.
Then while in Brooklyn he continued to say unflattering things about the Celtics and stomped on the leprechaun and did the sage burning thing haha.
So yeah. Quite a few reasons.

Add that he called LeBron during the season, "admitting" that he was wrong and he now understood how difficult it is to lead young players(these players had made it to the conference finals w/o him). All this, publicly.

There’s a few things:
- He was constantly throwing the “young guys” under the bus saying they don’t know how to win, even though he played horribly.
- He missed game 7 of the ECF.
- He visibly quit in the playoffs (and played like trash).
- Holier than thou attitude.
- The lucky situation, it’s not even about lucky. It’s about showing that kind of disrespect to a ball club when you’re the one that didn’t hold up your end of the bargain.
I enjoy watching him play when it’s not against the C’s, he has an absolutely insane amount of skill. I just do not like who he is.
