I’ll be shocked if it goes past 6 with maxey now emerging as a tar and raptors injury list

Raptors should consider defending without fouling. They put the Sixers on the line 30 times by trying to muck up the game. Unfortunately for them, the refs weren’t having it.

Well played, sir.

I am a little surprised that the Raptors haven't tried to play more zone. The Sixers have absolutely struggled with the zone in games this season. They certainly have the length to crowd Harden and Maxey on the perimeter. The Raptors actually did some nice trapping during that run in the 4th...definitely sped the Sixers up and helped fuel that run that got them back to 11.

If Barnes can't go on Wednesday - or even if he can go - I would try some zone if I were them.

Sixers have been absolutely elite at getting to the line this season, top 3 FTr, best team with free throws per offensive play. We were bottom 8 on both, there was ALWAYS going to be a discrepancy. I wish to not read any more complaints, our team isn’t built to get to the line.

Feels like Maxey should be fed either to start the third or the 4th if Sixers have any lead coming into one of those 2 quarters. Let him have a chance to just hit the gas and bury the Raps.

They struggled against zone because they didn't have a lead guard that knew how to beat it. That changed once they got Harden. Don't think that would work too well anymore.

Series is completely over, just a matter of not getting injured.

Even with Harden being "meh" the 76ers are running through the Raps.

Not really sure how the 76ers match up with the Heat. But the Heat are one of the smaller frontcourts in the playoffs so Embiid should be able to have his way.

In a lot of ways you have to think the 76ers made a 5 head move by sliding into the 4th spot before the playoffs.

Probably the absolute best 1rst and 2nd round combined matchups they could get (Bulls would be easier but Heat is probably their best 2nd round matchup). It'll still be tough mind you, not saying they're way better than the Heat but their best player should have a huge size advantage all season and forcing Bam to be a low post defender instead of his DPOY level skills on the perimeter and help defense is the best way to attack a team with him on the floor.

No Bias.

Raps just dont have anyone who can stop Harden or Embiid on single coverage.

So they just try to play a lot physical and throwing everything at them when they drive to the rim.

Its very hard to stay ahead of Embiid and Harden in position when you have Maxey, Tobias and other shooters shooting like steph curry. Most of these defenders were out of position.

Raps built a roster who can be elite in switching on defense. Its built to negate any screenplays.

But Harden and Embiid dont need screen plays. Harden can beat any of the Raps guards and most of their forwards. Embiid is a mismatch on any Raps players.

Why would the refs favor Achiuwa or Birks when defending Embiid?

Why would the refs favor Trent Jr or Malachi Flynn when defending Harden?

Whenever Harden was defending by OG or Achiuwa, Harden rarely gets calls and gets blocked a lot. Harden had 5 BAs (block against) in game 1. Maybe he just can get to the rim so frequently that is leading to a high foul rate..

Offensively, Siakam is too much right dominant. Watch how Sixers would force him to his left, whether its Harden or Tobi defending him.

Take away Siakam, and with Trent struggling, Raps dont have that much fire power.

By definition, everybody gets “fouled” in nba on nearly every possession — on AND off the ball.

I’m so tired of seeing fans of whatever team Harden plays for suddenly become FT advocates.

Sure Embiid gets fouled — but what about the other 25 times a game this 315lb dude ends on floor?

Try to defend them on single coverage first.

Harden just have been crossing up his man since G1.
Embiid have been defended by midgets at the paint.

If you send help, you are prone to get fouls because you’re coming from a distance (maxey, tobi and other spot shooters have been elite on shooting this series) and trying to be in the position earlier than the ball handler.

If you have Kawhi to defend Harden or Marc Gasol to defend Embiid, you wouldnt need to foul that much.

Embiid was asked about his conversation with Nick Nurse in the post game presser, and after Embiid said that he thinks Nurse is a great coach and he respected Nurse for what he has accomplished as a coach, he also had heard the things that Nurse said after game 1...and Embiid said, "I told him...respectfully...to stop bitching about calls."

EMBIID FROM THE TOP ROPE

Yeah, Nick. Stop bitching about calls.

Raps is trying to lure Embiid to do too much. If a team can tire out embiid, Sixers defense and rebound suffers.

In G2, Embiid was doing too much and even tries to be fancy.

Hopefully, Embiid is smarter than that.

That is why Sixers fans love Embiid. He always keeps it 100. And Nurse's postgame comments seem to suggest that his response is they are going to keep sending Embiid to the line...BECAUSE THEY KEEP FOULING HIM.
