There is just no reason, why he would leave. He is just not that character. He doesnt need a big market, he doesnt need the attention, he doesnt need to chase a legacy or something.

Why not take it? You can always force a trade later if things go south.

That's just too much money to pass up... A quarter billion dollars and enjoying a low-key life in Denver seems like heaven for Joker.

Well first it was a joke, but now that you're making it a serious conversation, Djokovic is currently making 38 mil gross per year. Here’s the projected salary by year for Jokic:

2023-24: $44.8 million
2024-25: $48.4 million
2025-26: $52.2 million
2026-27: $56.4 million
2027-28: $60.9 million

So it' wouldn't even be a hyperbole to state it as becoming the richest Serbian athlete as you're framing it, considering he'll make almost 25mil more than current Djoko in his prime income age. And that's only from his contract and not sponsorships etc.

That's with taxes, so he'll be earning around half of it, if my limited knowledge of the US tax system is on point.

Djokovic has been on tour for more than 15 years, he's one of the three best tennis players of all-time and he's far more attractive to the sponsors than Jokic, i.e. he's got way more endorsements and sponsorships than Nikola.

this where the supermax is a massive W, it needs to be harder to qualify for still, MVP at the bare minimum plus All NBA years.

But are y’all really arguing about who is the richest Serbian CentiMillionaire athlete when they both gonna be up in Serbian clubs together like
Image

Lol. Good for big YOKE! One of the only legit worthy super max players- Worthy in the sense that you not paying for potential because he is already the best in the world and he is actually in his prime years. Most of the time it’s either too early but you gotta do it to keep them or they older but your best real option or they older and you kinda owe it to them because they gave you a discount previously so you could win

.....Jokic is one of the few worthy of super max where it also makes sense to the team today cause he is checking nearly every box individually that you can. Now the team is on the clock to surround him

Not sure how accurate but Djokovic's networth is estimated to be about 220M which seems reasonable. If Jokic doesn't pass that, he got hurt. Jokic doesn't seem to live extravagantly either so he'll be catching up FAST! As for endorsements, tennis just doesn't pay what the NBA does.

He's a legendary player, and deserves it. But Denver needs to make some adjustments to their roster. Jokic shouldnt accept the offer so easily until he knows the organization is all about winning a championship.

He lost one sponsor

Quick interwebs check says he gets his biggest endorsement checks are about 10 a year from 2 companies and his total net worth is 220...damn good.

His Kyrie/Rogers COVID stance didn’t sit well with a ton of people but I’m sure he can still make ends meet with 220M
