I dont see anything wrong with what he said. Separate sports from real life. Yeah it would be nice if Kyrie focused more on ball or quit ball and focused on social activism but, nothing he said is incorrect.

He isn't beholden to anyone but himself in an inherently exploitative system. Just because he can be "exploited" for hundreds of millions and that most people would kill to be in that position does not make his complaints any less valid.

The problem with Kyrie is that he thinks he's this supreme intellectual for discovering basic facets of capitalist societies. It's like - yeah, man, there are people who are paid to stir the pot and generate controversy about you (and other people in the public spotlight) for monetary gain. It's not shocking, and there's no vast conspiracy; it's just the nature of the economic system on which our society is based. You're not special for recognizing that profit margins drive media. A **** 14-year-old knows that.

This sums it up for me. There are obviously truths in what he's saying, but it's the whole enlightened shtick which makes him insufferable.

Kyrie is at that point in life where he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room but doesn’t realize that there are people outside of that room thinking and doing thought provoking work. For most of us that have been in that situation that room was our highschool bedroom and then we grow up and meet intelligent humans.
