Why were the 76ers starters still in with 4 minutes left, up by 30 pts?

Wth was the reasoning for that? Embiid got cracked in the face with 4 minutes left. Luckily he was ok. I have no idea why these guys were still in. Could have been disastrous.
Maxey 44 mins, Harden 42 mins

The ghost of Duane Casey chose to inhabit Doc Rivers in that critical moment.
This wasn't funny, nor does it make a lot of sense, oh well.

Have seen this a lot this playoffs. Just don't think coaches want to gamble incase the other team goes for a 15 point run.

They coulda just dribbled out the shot clock on every possession and then chucked a long 3 and still would’ve won by a mile. He must really think the curse is real.

You want your players to take the momentum to the next series, no mental breaks.

4 minutes is still more than enough time for a team to go on a run and make it a single digit game, especially if they're playing against scrubs

Refer to the Kawhi shot .. what better way to absolve Embid of that loss to Toronto than to beat them down *in* Toronto.
I don't like it but its difficult to say that is not true ...
Congrats to PHI.

It's a bit hazardous to tell someone with blood on their mouth to take a seat until you know they've had their fill. Philly played aggressively and with determination after being humiliated on their home-court. It's good to see them play with that level of aggression, since they'll need it in Miami.

Damn a lot of teams absolved themselves against Miami and Cleveland after LeBron left.

I'm just glad Philly found some dignity to have a great game. If they play like that they might have a chance of beating Heat. Otherwise it's a gentleman's sweep.

Toronto starters (all 4 and Precious) were in until 2:14 mark. Perhaps the question should be why were they risking injury?
That said, it isn't that surprising that as long as Toronto was contesting the game, Philly was set on defending it.
And it isn't that crazy that a strong defensive and fast break team might go hot versus a bench group and pull off a quick 10-0 run or so; which would then force the starters back out with momentum strongly against them and the stadium going wild.
Altogether it was the safe play to wait till roughly where they did, although it does risk an injury.
