Jrue might have just had the greatest ten seconds in NBA history

As Good lord that was just utter defensive domination from Jrue.

I can't think of another player getting his soul snatched as badly as Jrue just did to Smart.

Man as someone who is rooting for the Bucks in this series.

Jrue's tendency to play hero ball makes me upset.

But man did he make up for his bad offensive game tonight with his defence.
Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.

I didn't see the game and kinda hate myself for saying this but...neither of these plays is that cool. I know it must've been really exciting in the context of a very meaningful PO game but the block is just Smart forcing a lay-up that Holiday was 100% right there for, he doesn't make a great angle or come from nowhere or anything in it. He's right there and has a direct path to make the block, it was so obvious and easy that he basically blocks it with his whole forearm. Just a bad take by Smart, who had Brown wide open. (The save out of bounds was cool though).

The steal seems about equal and even more forced by Smart: it's not like Jrue was locking him down or anticipating something unusual, Smart just tries to dribble right past him and Jrue's like 'oh I actually happen to be standing here so guess' I'll put a hand out' and that's that. I'm exaggerating and obviously he had to time that well, but again that's more of a big flub by Smart trying to force things than it is about an amazing (or even just pretty cool) Jrue play.

Smart getting the DPOY has to make this hurt him extra. You know exactly what Jrue was thinking after the game. That was his Hakeem to DRob moment.

The Holiday steal looks pretty egregious when Smart is clearly looking at Horford and the right side of the court right before it happened. He HAD to have seen Tatum with that type of view of the court.

Instead he carried, lost his grip after carrying, and then flopped for a call.
Sam Hinkie gets removed from the league for enacting a plan approved by the fanbase yet NIco Harrison and Patrick Dumont keep their job for alienating their fanbase. Make it make sense.

Kawhi's three and block on Harden during the regular season was better.

Kawhi also had back to back steals on multiple players.

Reggie? Rodney Rogers? Tmac?

Sure let's overreact OP...

The steal at the end was even worse because Tatum was completely wide open

It was so crazy because the Bucks were down by like 14 with less than 4 minutes to go and Boston had controlled the entire game, Milwaukee had no business being in that game at all.

Oh man, Smart not making the best decisions there. He passed to Horford, gets the ball back and IMO he sees Tatum open with Mathews stumbling after running into Portis and instead elects to go for the hero play and not the smart pass.

the second play just seems like marcus smart trying to do too much, looked like he was picking his dribble up to shoot a 3 near half court with at least 3 seconds left (he misses a past to an open tatum right before) because he knew they were going to foul to try to get 3 FTs... by picking his ball up he exposed it to jrue who has arguably the quickest/best hands on defense in the nba.

the first play is one of the best defensive plays in recent memory, it'll go down w/ the lebron chase down block imo. jrue was guarding brown, smart drives baseline (mccaonaughton overplays him at first and opens up the baseline lane) and jrue doesn't commit at first to prevent opening the lane up for brown to cut and smart to make a pass. he commits when smart commits to going in the air. smart is right handed and his left hand is on the side of the ball and jrue is challenging from the left side. his hand goes well above and gets essentially all ball which is incredibly hard to do from the left side.... then he stays in bounds and throws the ball off smart. i don't think you're really appreciating how many things jrue had to do just right to make this play.
