We started to see some cracks this year which reminded me of how the big 3 Heat looked towards the end of their run in 2014. The Bucks finished as the 14th ranked defense this season, I believe the only team to win a title in the last 30 years without a top 10 defense was the 2018 Warriors.

It’ll be interesting to see where they go moving forward with their front court. The PJ role was never really filled, Brook is getting older and hasn’t looked the same since his surgery, and Portis I guess will likely opt out and want more money than the MLE that the Bucks can offer? Big offseason coming up.

The Bucks lack of defense this season was almost solely due to Lopez missing almost the entirety of it. As soon as he came back the Bucks had the #1 defense from that point on. He's also had nearly a full season of rest, so i don't see why that doesn't help him come back strong next season, as he's just missed a full season of wear and tear on the body.

The Bucks should retire Giannis jersey while he's still playing.
They will be fine. Just re-sign Portis and upgrade Carter over Hill.

Bucks should stop being afraid of Nets. They should respect the game and trust their team instead of manipulating the game to hide from unfavorable matchups.

Τhey are 10-6 against the Nets in the KD era.
Including playoff winning series.
And you should get your facts straight.

Last season they went against the team that had eliminated them two years ago(Heat).
They had the option to avoid them. They didn't.
Why didn't you post something like this back then?

I really hate posts like this. Ignorance is not excuse.

Bucks should have beaten the Keltics, even without Middleton. They are missing the PJ Tucker influence. They need another dog like him.

I think they're fine. They just need to re-tool a little bit in the offseason and get rid of some of the dead weight on their roster. They took Boston to 7 games without Middleton. No disrespect to Boston, but let's not pretend that Giannis having Holiday as his #2 instead wasn't a big factor in that series. Middleton is a great two way player. They add an MLE level player, make a trade for some depth, and go into the playoffs healthy and they're back in the Finals

Bucks have zero athleticism at the wing. Middleton was a poor athlete before seriously injuring his hamstring a couple years ago,
Connaughton is too small, Hill is washed. Need an athletic 3&D to continue to use Bud’s defensive system. It simply doesn’t work without the right personnel.

Definitely a miss-step by Bud to rely so much on Hill over Carter. I think PJ Tucker is missed more than we'd like to let on as well.

Also, I think it's finally time to cut ties with Thanassis! He can wave a towel just as efficiently from the front row behind the players

PJ Tucker doesn't help. If anything, he exaggerates the problem. We dragged Boston in down into the mud for a fight. Our offense didn't have the punch.

Not a huge issue with me. At this point his contract is guaranteed. If someone playable comes around, sure sign that player but its cheaper to keep him around.

The biggest reason care about the RS is trying to set up favorable matchups

YUp, Milwaukee's defense has so far done a much better job shutting down Boston defensively than either Brooklyn or Miami

They won a championship in spite of Budenholzer. He should have been gone 3 years ago.

As great as Giannis is they need secondary scoring badly. With Middleton down, it exposed the Bucks. Their guards besides Holiday are atrocious, they need to add a couple 3&D guards/wings, as a game progresses teams tend to over focus on Giannis and literally create a wall around him, the shots are there for his teammates, they just can’t convert.

The guards/wings besides Holliday and Matthews were bad defensively too. Boston was having their day with them. The guards/wings were so bad defensively the Bucks were literally forced to go big and had to play Porter at SF. Lopez is good but he’s sooo slow in closing the gap defensively, his perimeter defence was horrible. Bucks still took the Celtics to 7 without Middleton, so not much change is needed just a little tinkering and a healthy roster. They will be a legitimate contender for the next 3-4 years.

Middleton injury is the real reason they didn't win this series

Imagine Jordan not having Pippen. So I guess Pippen was right lol

Bud isn't an ATG coach but he's a lot better than the average coach. If Milwaukee fires him the team most likely gets worse.

Bucks never should never have done the Ibaka Donte trade should have just kept cousins. But going forward draft smart and get an athletic shooting wing and pick one up as a free agent give Carter Hills minutes sign Portis with a healthy roster this team will be just fine.
