He plays defense as I think he has more steals than Giannis, he just doesn't jump as high which means he has much less blocks and less rebounds than him.

No. Defense is half the game, have people forgotten he was getting picked on defense just a week ago? And the Mavs won 2 playoff games without him jut 2 weeks ago.

TBH individual Defense is not really half of the game. In reallity Luka's offense really is half of Dallas's offense or even more. But his defense is 1/10th of Dallas defense. Luka guards guys that take 5 shots per game. On the other side he generates 70% od Dallas's points.

Yes He is clearly the Best player in the NBA right now for a few reasons....

Top 3 Luka/Giannis/Jokic... Giannis as great as he is imo would not be able to lead the team Doncic is on right now past the first round especially in the West....

Luka has a more well rounded offensive game to impact the game in alot more ways where defenses can't really shut him down like they can with Giannis .....Giannis has been neutralized before in the Playoffs where as Luka in his limited Playoffs we have seen from him has not been Neutralized ever.

Luka also plays with an edge where it gives him that Bad ass feel like Jordan/Bird had coming up ...Giannis also has it but Doncic just has it on another level...

But either way Giannis and Luka will be the faces of the NBA for many years to come...Only thing Luka needs to do is stay in shape and lose some weight to avoid injuries and hes good

Not yet its still a 4 man race between him and the others of the Foreign Four. But what this may prove is why the league has gravitated to still having a really good guard or wing as your best player. A great big man still needs a good/great wing to win. A great guard/wing doesnt need a great big man to win a title.

He's also stone cold in big moments. That was a freaking clinic. And he wasn't even really running the show. Seemed like Brunson and Dinwiddie were handling just as much. Just methodical. It's going to be great watching him in future Finals.

Luka will have to prove it against Golden State and probably in the Finals before he wins this title. He will need a couple of monster series before we can put a BPITW tag on him. Giannis is out but it's not like he was awful against the Celtics. BPITW title still belongs to Giannis.

Giannis should be considered number 1. He is an incredible player, and he can absolutely carry his team on his back. But with the older superstars slowing down, I'd have him second. Curry and KD are still great, but a clear step below what they used to be. Luka controls the pace of the game particularly in the half court which is something that is critical in playoffs, in a way we maybe haven't seen since Bird/Magic. There is no reason the elite defenders he has faced in the playoffs couldn't slow him down, but he has a savant level ability to dictate everything on the court offensively. He's not even as efficient as he could be either, it's not like he's the most efficient scorer around, and there are other great scorers who can also create at an elite level. There is just something about the way he manipulates any defense he see's through calculated actions that is different.

I’d rather Luka than Giannis, personally. He’s just sooo much more difficult to stop since he can score anywhere on the court and has otherworldly court vision.

Lukas defence isn’t even that bad, at least positionally. He makes great reads and he’s obviously exceptional at grabbing rebounds…

The guy is a basketball savant. A generationally skilled player. Incredible.

Plays defense now. I don't think he'll ever be a gamechanger on that end, But it was waay overblown that game 2, Where he's had to take a massive offensive burdon, then the Suns targeted him over and over.

He went from bad to average, But thats still a good turnaround meaning
