Pistons completely embarrassed the Lakers.
Whether in hindsight the Pistons should have been underdogs is now probably debatable but at the time the Lakers were heavily favoured.

I don't think they were as heavily favored. They were just more popular a lot of people were rooting for them because they wanted Malone and GP to win championships. IMO even the Pacers could have beaten the Lakers that year.

It was just a bad matchup for the Mavs who were build to compete against Duncans and Shaquilles of the world.

Not at any point Dallas looked as hopeless and disoriented for a full game as Suns did yesterday.

It felt more like LeBron giving up on Cavs in 2010 playoffs.

Yup. Imagine if the mavs didn't have Luka this game and the result was the same.

I don't remember Lakers being heavily favored unless you were a Lakers fan. The Pistons were the better team on paper and on the court.

Pistons were +500 so that’s actually a big underdog by historic standards

Those betting odds were made before Malone injury. Malone, the 3rd best player on the Lakers, was injured for most the series. If Ayton missed the Suns game and they lost it wouldn't be nearly as shocking. They were completely healthy so it's not comparable.

The Lakers blowouts were also all in Detroit, so not comparble to getting blown out at home.

Those weren’t big surprises. Warriors owned Mavs in season and Grizz owned Spurs. You knew it had a chance of happening. No one thought Phoenix would fall behind by 45 points at home in a Game 7.

Yes but game 5 was close. Not like Suns down 45 last night.

The first thing that comes to mind is the Broncos-Seahawks Super Bowl, where an all-time great looking offense was completely shut down.

But what comps come to mind for you?

Well when you describe it like that I automatically think the 2016 Golden State Warriors.

is worst lose in 6 vs a seed 8 in first round than lose in 7 vs a seed 4 in second round, even if the game 7 is a blowout at your home

Ok I’ll admit i haven’t watched hours of Luka or Larry bird . ( at my choosing I do have league pass)
But look at the 1st minute of highlights here and you see moves Luka used in game 7 or you’ve seen him do before.

Or I’m gonna say a guard version of dirk .
